The Le Roy Junior football
squad clinched a berth in the
CYFLChampionshipgameafter
earning their 7th straight victory
this past Sunday. The Knights
beat Warsaw in rain, hail, and
snow by a score of 32-0, their
4th straight shutout and 5th of
the season.
Warsaw began the game with
the ball, but was forced to punt
after a sack by Tony Piazza and
tackles for loss by Xavier King
and Aiden Davis. The Knights
offense took over at midfield.
Facing 10 men in the box, the
Knights offense showed their di-
versitybyopeningup thepassing
playbook. Quarterback Tommy
Condidorio threaded the needle,
hitting Adrian Stephens for a
20 yard gain. On the very next
play, Condidoriofired abullet to
Drew Strollo, who scooted into
the end zone for a 10 yard TD.
TonyPiazzapunched it in for the
conversion,giving theKnightsan
early 8-0 lead.
The Knights defense forced a
quick turnover ondowns. It took
no time for the offense to strike
again, as 3 plays later Piazza
wouldbreak loose for anexciting
19yard touchdown,extending the
lead to 14-0. Warsaw’s offense
took the field again, this time
looking to throw the ball aswell.
However JacksonFix jumped the
Warsaw receiver’s route,making
the interception and darting 30
yards for the defensive touch-
down. The“FixSix”extended the
Knights lead to20-0, beforeeven
one snap of the second quarter.
LeRoy forced another punt,
giving the offense another op-
portunity. LeRoy methodically
moved the ball down the field
behind strong blocking from
CamMaxwell,DJO’Geen, Jayce
Panepento, Holden Sullivan,
DannyHowe, TristanWeiseltier,
and Joey Biletskiy. Aaric Luce
eventually broke through the
defense, stiff arming his way to
a10yardTD, cappingoff the1st
half scoring at 26-0.
LeRoybegan the2ndhalfwith
theball,howeverafter somemis-
cues had to punt. Their defense
was again stout, forcing another
Warsawpunt afteraDrewStrollo
sack. This time theKnights fired
on all cylinders. A 25 yard run
by Strollo, 22 yard run by Tom-
my Condidorio, and a 35 yard
run by Jackson Fix put the ball
on the 1 yard line. Luke Lathan
completed thedrivewitha1yard
touchdown plunge, giving the
Knights a32-0 lead. Thatwould
be thefinal scoreof thegame, as
bothdefensesplayedwell for the
4th quarter.
Tony Piazza led the rushing
attack for the Knights with 47
yards, includingaTDand2-point
conversion. DrewStrollo added
33yardson thegroundaswell as
a10yardTD catch. JacksonFix
added 35 yards rushing. Tommy
Condidoriowas effective throw-
ing the ball for 30 yards, and
also performed as a dual threat,
running for 23 yards. Adrian
Stephens had 13 yards rushing
as well as 20 yards receiving.
AaricLuce rumbled for 34yards
includingaTD, andLukeLathan
added a TD as well. Also carry-
ing the football for LeRoy were
JakeHiggins,AdamWoodworth,
ConnorHegeman, JackEgeling,
and Alex Spezzano. Spezzano
took a particularly painful hit,
however personified hisKnights
team’s attitude and toughness
commenting afterwards, “pain is
justweakness leaving thebody.”
Defensively, theKnightswere
suffocatingand relentless all day
long. Jackson Fix and Tommy
Condidorio provided excellent
pass defense, with Fix returning
an interception30yards foraTD,
and both making tackles. Nose
tackleXavierKingwasdominant
with 3 tackles for loss. Drew
Strollo had 8 tackles, including
several for loss and 2 sacks.
Fellow linebacker Tony Piazza
added 6 tackles, including a big
sack as well. Linebackers Luke
LathanandXavienWalkeradded
3 tackleseach. ConnorHegeman
(fumble recovery), JackEgeling,
andAdamWoodworthallmade2
tackles.Alsomaking tackleswere
Hunter Beverly, Aidan Davis,
Jake Higgins, Alex Spezzano,
andDJO’Geen.
TheKnightsfinish theirregular
season on Sunday October 25th
with a trip toGeneseo.
The Le Roy Senior Knights
put together a dominatingoffen-
sive and defensive performance
against theWarsawTigers. The
Knights started out on defense
and after driving the Tigers
backwards on 3 straight plays,
Tyler Strollo sacked theWarsaw
quarterback in the endzone to
register the Knights first safety
of the year.
On the ensuing kickoff War-
saw kicked the ball to Le Roy’s
Brady Fix who would run 45
yards for the touchdown behind
a great downfield block byBrett
Babcock.AdamRisewick added
the 2 point conversion to put the
Knights up 10-0.
Le Roy stopped Warsaw on
their next offensive position
to take over on the Warsaw 15
yard line. Twoplays laterAdam
Risewick rushed for a 15 yard
TD. BradyFixadded the2point
conversion.
Warsaw would again go on
offense and the Knights defense
would again hold them. This
timeWarsawwould punt on 4th
down. The punt would go to Le
Roy’sspeedsterAdamRisewick.
Risewick caught the punt and
returned it untouched for the 25
yard touchdown. The extrapoint
attempt failed and the Knights
were now up 24-0.
On Le Roy’s next offensive
possession, JohnPanepentokept
the ball on a 25 yardQB keeper
around the left end for a touch-
down. TheKnightswerenowup
30-0 before the end of the first
half. The game would end with
thescore30-0 in favorofLeRoy.
