The Le Roy Senior Knights
hosted the Hornell Red Raiders
onAugust 31, 2014atHartwood
Park for their home opener.
Hornell would receive the ball
to start the game and the strong
Knights defense would force
a three and out. A bad snap on
the punt would allow Andrew
Kettle and Cody Lytle to meet
at thepunterwithKettle’s tackle
forcing a fumble.
TheKnights would begin their
first offensive series on theHor-
nell 23 yard line. Nice runs by
CodyLytle,AndrewEnglerthand
Alex Panepento moved the ball
to the4yard line.KeatonHobart
then foundEthanBeswick in the
end zone on the rollout for the
touchdown! Andrew Englerth
took in the 2 pt. conversion for
the early 8-0Knights lead.
Hornell would again go three
andoutwhenTylerStrollo rushed
the punter and tackled him for a
loss before he could get the kick
off. TheKnights tookover at the
Hornell 34 yard line. A Cody
Lytle7yard runwas followedby
an Andrew Englerth touchdown
run but it was called back on a
holding penalty by the Knights.
Englerthwas not to be denied as
he took thenextcarry35yardsfor
the touchdown! Englerth would
then run in the 2 pt. conversion
to increase the Knights lead to
16-0. The Knights would then
forceanother threeandout onan
Englerth tackle in the backfield.
A Hornell punt would give the
Knights theball back at theHor-
nell 35 yard line.
The next drive would begin
when Keaton Hobart threw a
deep ball toCody Lytle for a 20
yardgain.CameronGreenwould
finish the drive taking a pitch 12
yards for the touchdown. Alex
Panepento would plow into the
end zone for the2pt. conversion
andgive theKnights a24-0 lead.
Cameron Green would lead the
Knightsdefenseon thenextseries
ashehada tackle fora losson4th
down after hemet CodyLytle at
theQB for a sack.
The Knights offense would be
forced to punt after a few short
runs by Nate Andrews, Alonso
Storey and Tyler Strollo but
wouldget theball rightbackafter
the defense forced yet another
three and out. Nate Andrews
would take a pitch 44 yards but
it was called back on another
holding penalty. Alonso Storey
would take the next handoff 48
yards for a touchdown! Keaton
Hobartwould take aQBbootleg
in for the 2 pt. conversion and a
32-0 halftime lead.
TheKnightswould receive the
second half kickoff and go right
towork. Runs byBradyFix, Ty-
ler Strollo and Adam Risewick
would give way to a 30 yard
scamper by starting guard Zack
Vanderhoof! That would finish
off the scoring for the Knights
as they took a knee on the 2 pt.
conversion to provide the 38-0
final score.
The rest of the game saw a lot
of time consuming runs byTyler
Strollo, Brady Fix, Adam Rise-
wick and Kaiel Robinson. The
tough Knights defense has now
pitched twoshutouts ina rowand
were led today byCodyLytle (1
sack) and Adam Risewick who
collected five tackles each. Alex
Panepento andAndrewEnglerth
were close behind with 4 each.
Zack Vanderhoof would collect
three tackles while also getting
on the tackle stat sheet were
BrockFlint-2, DevynBzduch-2,
CameronGreene-2 (1 sack),An-
drew Kettle-1 (forced fumble),
Tyler Strollo-1, Alonso Storey-1
(forced fumble), Cole Raus-
cher-1, Kaiel Robinson-1 and
BradyFixwith a pass breakup.
Another strong performance
by an aggressive offensive line
led by Jimmy Burns, Zack Van-
derhoof,ColeRauscher,Andrew

finished with 50 yards rushing
and 1 TD to lead the Knights.
Andrew Englerth would add 48

conversions. Zack Vanderhoof
rumbled for 30 yards and a TD
whileCodyLytle ran for28yards
and1 reception for 20yards. Ty-
ler Strollo ran for 27 yards and
CameronGreene sprinted for 12
