idents to drop off flags deemed
no longer in a serviceable or
presentable condition.
This year itwas estimated that
there were approximately 335
flags tobe disposedof at today’s
ceremony, including the replaced
flag fromOrcon IndustriesCorp.
Mr. Paul Keister, the officers
and membership of the North-
woodsprovidedasuitablesetting
and area where the flags could
be draped and arranged in a dig-
nifiedmanner prior to disposal.

firewatch and safetydetail stag-
ing fire apparatus and personnel
to ensure a safe event and pre-
venting extension of thefire.

Post, thepyrewas ignitedand the
entire process was completed in
one hour.

onFriday,August 5th, 2016 at the ageof 73.
AlmawasbornApril18th, 1943 inSt.Louis,Missouri.
In her early years sheworked as a nurse at LosAngeles
CountyHospital inCalifornia and then as an Interven-
tionWorker in theMissions’Departmentof theSalvation
Army also inLosAngeles.
Shemoved into this area in 2000. Alma is survived
by David, her husband of 21 years and their adopted
daughter, Cindy (Dupree) Mack of Belmont, North
Carolina. Alma had a dear little companiondog named
Oliver.Hewas very special toher.He’s beenwithher at
least 6-7years.
