Notes

Notes from November 2, 2016

President David Grayson

opened the meeting at 12:15

with the ringing of the bell, a

rousing Pledge of Allegiance,

followed by a happy birthday

serenade

for

November

birthdays, Lynn Belluscio and

Tony Gugino. We welcomed

guests, Le Roy seniors; Ryan

Boyce, Ben Carmichael, Eric

Risewick, and Perry Rotarian,

Hans Kunze.

Announcements

included

reminders for the upcoming

events, most notably the

“Appliance Raffle”

to be held

on Sunday November 6th. Bob

Bennett reminded Rotarians to

sell any remaining tickets and

to check the work schedule for

the day. Mary Margaret Ripley

reminded all about the upcoming

Lasagna Dinner to be held on

Saturday November 19th

at the

Knights of Columbus building

from 5:00-7:00 pm. Tickets will

be available next week.

Another “shout-out” went

out to the group to consider

attending the Eastern Cities

Dinner, held in the Rochester

ConventionCenter onDecember

6th. Our International Rotary

President, John F. Germ will

be in attendance. This is always

wonderful night of fellowship

and learning with Rotarians

from all around the region.

After a spirited fining

session,

which

included,

President Grayson, for missing

the introduction of guests,

Christine Gephart began the

program. Christine shared

with the group that they level

of poverty and hunger in the

area continues to grow. For

the last several years, many

people came to rely on the free

meal supplied once a week by

“Grace’s Kitchen”. With the

closing of Grace’s Kitchen, the

community now has a void. Is

there something that the Rotary

Club of Le Roy could do to fill

this gap? This is a discussion

that will continue within the

club for the next few weeks.

The meeting ended with

the ringing of the bell and the

traditional raffle. For more

A great deal of gratitude is extended to

my wonderful family and friends.

I can not thank you enough

for all of the phone calls, food,

visits and cards that I received during

my recent surgery and hospital stay.

Your thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated.

God Bless You!

Sincerely , Jack Fay
