No. Rotary is not a fraternal organization. Rotary is an international
serviceclubcommitted toserving the local communityand theworld.

No. Currently, over 40% of the club are women. Although we have
members over 70 years old who have been working to serve this
community for over 40 years,many of ourmembers are in their 20’s
and30’s andbring to the cluba vibrant newenergy towards serving
the community. There is no alcohol served at our current meeting
place. Even if therewas, members generally have to return towork
or family andwouldnot partake.

fined. Is that true?
Yes, but it’s not what you think. The fines that LeRoy Rotarians pay
areactuallypart of theduesstructureandareequalizedbyyear end.
Fines are generally assesed as a funway of recognizing a rotarian’s
acheivementsandpositive lifeevents.Theyareneverment tohighlight
the negative or embarrass anyone.
Is attendance requiredat everyWednesday lunchmeeting?
No. Although attendance is encourage at asmany regular meetings
aspossible, therearealternativemeans tomeet attendance require-
ments.
Howdo I join?
There is an application process. First, you need to let us know you
are interested. Visit leroyrotary.org/membership-interest.html and fill
out the simple form. Submit the completed formand youwill thenbe
contactedby amember of themembership committeeand invited to
fill out a short application form. Youmay be invited toattendameet-
ing as a guest. Your application will then be presented to the board
of directorsand to themembership. Thismay take3 to4weeks. If all
approve, you will be invited to join and will be inducted at a regular
Wednesday lunchmeeting. It’s that easy!
