A rare warm and sunny October Sunday would set the stage for this jousting battle as the wind would begin to gust. The Black Knights defense, as if feeding on the wind, would be reminicent of the '85 Bears. Ev- ery player would grab multiple flags and not allow a first down in the first half. The Brothers' Humphrey anchored the left side, forcing York runners to be swallowed up by the rest of the Black defense. Drew Beachel and Benito Bautista shut down the passing game with multiple pass deflections. The Black offense was equally impressive as they marched up and down the field. Bautista and Beachel had long, hard runs to put the Knights at the five with first and goal. Three straight runs to Andrew Sibley, put the Knights on the two yard line. The York defense wasn’t going down without a fight. On fourth and goal from the two, Jaxon Cook would shovel it to Xan- der Robbins for a Knight touch- down! Cook's third pass touch- down of the year and Robbins first career touchdown! The offense wasn’t done yet, as on their next possession, Ben- jamin Singleton would break to the outside for a long touch- down! Roland Goodenough would top off the offensive scoring, with a long run down the left sideline and diving into the endzone. Touchdown! The Red Knights bear-esk defense would also shut down the “Big Guys” from York in the first half. Cameron Monte- sano led the defense, while Eli Fortuna, Corey Brown, Thom- as Englerth and Sammy Bogue pushed the o-line backwards. Luke Offen, Dominic Redmon, and Robert Dunn would at- tack the backs in the backfield. At middle linebacker, Landon Kaczanowski was a flag grab- bing machine. The Red offense would open the scoring as York put the ball in the air and Robert Dunn plucked it out of the sky for a Knights pick six. Touch- down! The Red offense started strong with sweeps to Redmon and Of- fen gaining big yards. Fortuna, Montesano, and Bogue add big runs to set the Knights up with first and goal from ten yards out. York stopped the Knights on first down. York wasn’t so lucky on second down as Kaczanows- ki took a sweep to the right untouched for his first career touchdown! The Red and Black Knights will finish the season Sunday at Hartwood Park against Warsaw. Go Red and Black!
