This year Sandra’s Tea will benefit the LeRoy Woodward Memorial Library. A recent renovation of the children’s room created a wonderful new area for the children to enjoy books, computers, games and pro- grams. The new program room needs a flat screen TV on which video’s and internet programs can be shown. In addition, library patrons have shown an interest in having outdoor seating for read- ing and computer use in front of the library. Hopefully, these two items on the Woodward Memorial wish list will become a reality after this year’s tea. The Tea will be held on Saturday, November 4 from 3-5 pm in Olmstead Hall of The First Presbyterian Church, 7 Clay Street. Sandra’s Tea is a high tea in the British tradition; attend- ees, both ladies and gentlemen, are encouraged to wear hats, gloves and to bring their best tea cup as well as their best friends. There will be finger foods, cookies and other delicacies along with the tea. Gift baskets, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and lovely music will supplement the food and conversation. Lora Allen, a library board trustee, will present a program about the library; and, as always, a fun table activity will entertain those in attendance. Presented in loving memory of Sandra Jones, a Le Roy native who died in 2010 of pancreatic cancer, this is the third year for this benefit tea. Sandra loved children and books. Aiding the li- brary with the proceeds of her tea is a fitting way to honor her mem- ory and continue her legacy of life-long learning through reading. In 2015, LCCP was the first recipient of Sandra’s Tea and last year several scholarships were funded for Le Roy school age children to attend the GO ART! Creative Art Camp Series.
