The Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) serves non-professional theatre across the state including all community and educational theatre programs. TANYS takes great pride in hosting an annual Festival which is a celebration of theatre from all regions of the state, and offers multiple educational opportunities that include workshops and adjudications. The TANYS adjudication program engages the theatre community on many levels and serves to both grow and encourage theatre excellence across our state. Adjudication is an opportunity for a group of theatre practitioners to hear constructive, objective feedback about your production from a colleague who is invested in your organization and its continued success and development. Adjudications are offered during the rehearsal process and/or the run of your production. An adjudication will always have a focus on learning but may also serve as a vehicle to be invited to the annual TANYS Festival. Interested companies may also request an adjudication that focuses specifically on the technical elements of the production. Participants in an adjudication may include production staff, cast, crew and audience. TANYS has had the great privilege to serve educational programs throughout New York State that include Sherburne-Earlville, Fabius- Pompey, Williamsville, The Acting Out Playhouse, Salamanca, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Fredonia, Nazareth College, South Seneca, Syosset, Cuba- Rushford, Wellsville, Taconic Hills, Hamilton School and more. TANYS also serves dozens of community theatres in every area of the state. Anyone interested in discussing adjudication for their program or scheduling an adjudication may reach out to Paul Nelson, TANYS VP of Adjudication Services, at paulanelson1979@ gmail.com or by calling/texting (716) 378-0353.
