She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Cooney of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Martha Dreesen of Belen, N.M. Born Dec. 10, 1931, Joy had a long career as a psychotherapist and family counselor (MSW) in Genesee County, N.Y. She loved going to work. Her summers were spent on the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands with her husband of sixty years, Don, her two daughters and loads of friends. Those were halcyon days. Without reciting a list of accomplishments and activities, we just want to say that truly our mom’s life was long and full. We will be scattering her ashes on the St. Lawrence River, as was her wish and as we did with our father.
