Brady Harvie, 97, of LeRoy, passed away March 31, 2021 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. Donations can be made in Ruth’s name to the LeRoy Historical Society or the American Legion. John F. Rider, 82, of LeRoy, passed away April 6, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was loved by his friends and family. In lieu of flowers, a Le Roy High School scholarship will be created in honor of John. Alexander, 58, formerly of LeRoy, passed away on the morning of April 11, 2021, at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport. He will be missed by his friends and family. Karen E. Parks, 72, of LeRoy, passed away on the morning of April 12, 2021, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit #576 of LeRoy has selected 4 local High School Junior girls to attend this years New York Girls State held virtually the week of June 28th. Evelyn Babcock of LeRoy High School and Allison Privatera of LeRoy High School, have been selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) New York Girls State. Selected as alternates are Samantha Sikora of Pavilion High School and Alexa Wolcott of Pavilion High School. As part of the premier ALA program, the girls will study local, county, and state government processes during this 5 day nonpartisan political learning experience. The Girls were selected to attend Girls State based on selection criteria through Auxiliary unit and/or high school, which includes being in the top 1/3 of her class, along with consideration given to scholastic achievements, leadership, character, honesty and physical fitness.
