It is very humbling to see the dedication of so many people, not just the fire department but the auxiliary as well. The department recognized their top 10 responders and John Johnson as and outgoing Fire Commissioner. The two special awards went to Craig Johnson who received an accommodation of valor for his life saving actions rescuing a person from a burning building. The prestigious Fire fighter of the year went to Jared Chick. Congratulations to all the award winners but more important, Thank you to all of you for a great job and unselfish dedication. You may have read in the Batavia Daily about our Wolcott St. renovation project scheduled for this summer, the Board has somewhat revised it with going south first and taking care of our drainage issue. This will mean we won’t be disrupting Oatkafest this year.
