PRE-CUT AND CUT-YOUR-OWN OPEN EVERY DAY Our Lady of Mercy Parish in LeRoy, NY will ring the Church Bells again! The Bells will be rung on Sunday, December 8th at 10:30am. This will be the first time that the bells will be rung since spring of 2017. In August of 2017 the Verdin Bell Company inspected the church bells at Our Lady of Mercy Parish. During the inspection the Verdin Company verified that at some point the church was struck by lightning. These bells include the Angelus, the bell before Mass and the funeral bell. It was determined at that time that all three of the motors were also in need of repair. Since that time, we experienced electrical problems and one motor was sparking resulting in disconnecting all of our church bells. Fr. Michael Donovan, O. de M. who was the pastor at that time, said that the bells have gone off once during the night and stayed on for an hour. Another time all three bells were ringing during the 5:30 pm Mass. He had to disconnect all three of them as bells did not go off with the switch in basement of Church. The Church Bell repairs have now been completed and the current pastor, Fr. Matthew Phelan, O. de M. is looking forward to hearing the bells ring for the first time since he became pastor. The bell system will be blessed and rung on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 10:30 am. Our Lady of Mercy Parish Bells SCREEN PRINTING
