Mike Darby's Patch & Paint LeRotary Notes Today's Rotary meeting began as president Mary Young called the members to order reciting The Pledge of Allegiance, prayer and the Rotary 4-way test. Our guests today were Kelly Tyler, Helene Beswick and Josh Baker. Lynne Belliscio announced plans for the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans bench and parade taking place on Veterans Day, November 11 at 11am. Bob Boyce asked LeRoy Rotarians to vote on Election Day, Nov 5, as the LeRoy ambulance is in need of financial support, otherwise the service will dissolve on December 31. Marcia McKenzie will be collecting for the LeRoy Pantry and asked Rotarians to bring in non-perishable goods for the donation box. President Mary reported on the success of our high school sports teams and wished them good luck in upcoming sectional games. Several checks were presented today. The first going to Lynne Belluscio supporting the Batavia jazz band that played at the Wings Over LeRoy. The second check presented to our guests, Josh, Kelly and Helene in support of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. There were many Rotarians called upon for missed meetings. Bob, Ben, Jim, Betsy, Tony, Jake, Eric and Phil all had missed. Most had excuses or makeups to cover. Fines began with Bob Carlson giving a report on the World Series games. Phil Plossel was fined for visiting family in New Jersey. Carol Wolfe was sited for coming up with multiple jokers at card game night, funny that she never won a game! President Mary gave Betsy Halvorsen a nice article on the Woodward Library. Betsy paid for that clipping. We were all shown a photo of Ben Derragon's adorable new puppy named Neil. He too " puppied" up happy bucks for him. Mike Tucci paid for his recent move to Pavilion and Tony Gugino paid for his trifecta of sporting events. He attended a World Series game, Buffalo Bills game and Sabres game recently. Unfortunately all 3 of the home teams lost. Better not go to any LeRoy sporting events Tony, till your luck changes! Jake Whiting was happy to pay for the wonderful news he shared with us as he and his wife are expecting their first child and also for his brothers recent wedding. And finally President Mary had to add to her fining totem for not mentioning the wonderful article about fellow Rotarian Bob Boyce. Carol Wolfe presented today's program on Halloween trivia. With a toot on your horn, and the correct answer, you had your choice of candy treats. Funny, Eric Fix knows all about this holiday and won enough candy to pass out at his house. No one was able to answer the question to-what do you call someone that has a morbid fear of Halloween? Samhainophobia!
