The Knights looked to stay unbeaten on a day where they could set the tone for the older squads of juniors and seniors. The Knights defer as they wanted the defense to get the home crowd pumped up early. On the first play from scrimmage GVB fumbled the snap and Jesse Hubbard was there to recover. LeRoy ball at the GVB 32 yard line! LeRoy’s Luke Mosko busted off a 22 yard run on first down. Roland “Stiff Arm” Goodenough would would gain 6 more yards to set up a Carson “Nutter” Stiles 4 yard Touchdown! Michael Warner failed to convert the point after. LeRoy 6-0. The Knight defense playing at a high level forced a 3 and out, to set the offense up at their own 45. The seven “Trenchmen” of LeRoy opened big holes for Bogan,Stiles and Mosko, to set up a 26 yard Goodenough Touchdown! Beachel calls his own number for the conversion giving the Knights a 14-0 lead. The Knights offense and defense were now on a roll!! Luke Offen would give the Knights the ball back on the GVB 31 yard line after recovering a fumble on the ensuing GVB drive. GVB would force the Knights into third and long, only to be drawn offsides by a Beachel hard count. Mosko would gain a first down and set the Knights up with first and goal from the 10. On fourth and goal from the 8, Beachel would call his number again and find the endzone!! Mosko provides the conversion to make it 22-0 LeRoy! GVB would get a first down on the ensuing drive with the help of a Knights penalty. The defense amped up the gang tackling to force three straight negative plays. After the GVB punt the Knight offense would go on an eight play drive picking up four first downs! Touchdown Mosko!! A failed conversion made it 28-0 LeRoy heading into halftime. The Knights would come out in the second half and be forced to punt. The seven “Trenchmen” were not happy. GVBwould go on and eight play drive capped off by a Joy (#7) 35 yard touchdown run. Jackson Hubbard and half the Knights D stop the conversion. LeRoy 28- 6. The Knights would convert on fourth and inches on the next drive only to fumble it away the very next play. It looked as if the tides were turning as GVB began to gain momentum heading into the fourth quarter. The defense vowed to get the offense the ball back and did so by forcing a four and out. This set the Knights offense up with great field position at the GVB 40 yard line. Three plays later and it’s a John “Hawkeye” Bogan 22 yard Touchdown! The Knights now leading 34-6 would find themselves in a goal line situation as GVB had it first and goal from the Knights 1 yard line after a 3 play drive. On first down the Knights would stop GVB an inch from the endzone. The next play the Knights stop GVB for no gain. Now third and goal and the Knights D stands tall, GVB runs to the right into the waiting arms of Ben Singleton as Offen strips the ball and Jacob Kochmanski recovers just outside the endzone!! This goal line stand was an epic moment for the young Knights defense! Three runs by the offense brought the game to a close. LeRoy 34 GVB 6. The 7-0 ironman Knights host Dansville Saturday and look to stay unbeaten!
