LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - SEPTEMBER 23, 2018 In Week 3 of LeRoy Football the Temp Was Rising Submitted by: Joseph Bogue In week 3 of LeRoy Football the temp was rising outside and for the knights defense. Cameron Montesano, Weston Humphrey and and Lorilye Beardsley swiftly shutdown Geneseo, all grabbing flags. It was "The Line of Doom" Andrew Sibley, Maddox Finnin and Noah Neth setting up perfect blocks in a screen to Gunner Humphrey to move halfway down field. Cameron Montesano then put on the moves, bobbing and weaving through several defenders to score for the knights. Ben Biracree and Nathan macintyre both grabbed flags to stop Geneseo on the next possession but after that a quick sideline run gave them their first touchdown. In the second half the pressure was on the knights, Maddox Finnin snuck up the middle with a great run moving drive upfield. Eli Fortuna took care of it from there running upfield with an amazing cut to elude geneseo defense and carry it across the goal line for another LeRoy td. The proven speed of the knights defense was again too much Weston Humphrey, Gunner Humphrey and Blake Biracree made it a four and out and brought the offense on the field. After a precise screen pass from Ryker Vangalio to Blake Biracree the knights had prime field position and Ryker Vangalio took advantage sweeping right and reaching the endzone with a smile as big as his run. Tenacious D by Weston Humphrey,Cameron Montesano and Eli Fortuna sent Geneseo offense off the field and gave the knights enough time for one final play. That's when Lorilye Beardsley said "I got this coach!!" and ran like the win across the whole field being manned just short of another td. With the horn sounding it was another incredible game in the record books. The black team started the game on defense against the geneseo team that had a noticeable size advantage but they wouldnt back down. With Brody wilson Blake fetzerWyatt Whipple and Carter Mcclurg tracking down the geneseo running backs the knights were able to take over on offense after just 4 plays. It would only take 1 play for Sammy Bogue to take a hand off from qb Jace Beauchamp and run to daylight for the 1st touchdown of the day for LeRoy. Constant pressure from Anthony Price Thomas Englerth and Jaiden Biletskiy would leave geneseo scrambling and if they found any room linebacker Preston Heschke was right there to stop them. Thomas Englerth started the next drive gaining tough yardage then Preston Heschke got in the action running through geneseos defense getting the knights a first down. From there it was Carter Mcclurg who would follow Blake Fetzer around the corner and take it to the house for his 1st touchdown. After geneseo managed to find the endzone for the 1st time of the day LeRoy would take over with 3 minutes left in the 1st half. Jace Beauchamp would lead his team down the field and hit Sammy Bogue with a touchdown pass as the 1st half came to an end. The 2nd half was a back and forth battle but the knights wouldnt be denied Wyatt Whipple Anthony Price and Jaiden Biletskiy would continue to push forward making room for the knights running backs.
