Unfortunately, the Bike and Brew tour had to be cancelled as well. However, the Habitat for Humanity Build Day is still on for next Wed., August 15th. See Jake Whiting if you are interested in volunteering to work. Following that, our Strategic Planning meeting will be held next Thursday, August 16th beginning at 5:30 at The Greens upstairs meeting room. The online survey is still available- members were asked to please complete it this week. The Rotary picnic will be September 16th at Bob Bennett’s house; please bring a dish to pass and let Bob know if you can help. October is a big month for Rotary with Grants training, the District conference set for Oct 20th at Niagara on the Lake and of course our 30th Annual Appliance raffle on October 28th. Tickets were handed out at lunch and all Rotarians expected to sell at least 15 tickets. Bob Bennett asked for assistance with the raffle. These are the service opportunities we discussed: 1. LeRoy House - today, flooding in the basement and Lynn B. would like volunteers to help her. 2. LeRoy Community Kitchen - August 14th. 3. Appliance Raffle planning. 4. Rotarians Excited About Literature (REAL) Martha is looking to stepping down from chairing this event, please contact her if you are interested in coordinating our book give-away. We celebrated Lauren Humphrey’s birthday today with a rousing rendition of our birthday anthem. President Jim took the following members to task for Missed Meetings: Lauren Humphrey, Steven Falitico, Phil Plossl, Andrew Rich, Mike Tucci, and Randy Vink. Additionally, these folks provided some “Coin of the realm” for various infractions: Lauren – for translating social media communications, Steven for failure to follow directions in using a tape dispenser, Phil for a darling new granddaughter, Andrew for defining relaxation with a cold libation at Letchworth, Mike Tucci for a family celebration on Facebook, Tom McGinnis for an indecipherable photograph about his business and President Jim paid to celebrate Bob Carlsen’s 66- year wedding anniversary. Our programwas presented by Ms. Pat Meek, who is the Volunteer Coordinator from Home Care & Hospice. Pat spoke about the many volunteer opportunities at the local Warsaw and Batavia locations. Training is provided (6 hour basic training).
