Please take extra care driving through the Village as our children will be out and about enjoying all there is to do in LeRoy. Last week the Board ac- cepted the retirement resigna- tion of Officer Eric Miller with much regret. Eric has served as the school resource officer for the last 15 years and has been the only one we have ever had in that position. I would say he will be sadly missed, but he will continue in that position. The school has taken over the responsibility and hired Eric privately to fill the role. Just one quick story to show Eric’s character. While acting as the departments union rep in con- tract negotiations the business rep from his union questioned the Chief’s loyalty to his men. This upset Eric deeply and he decided to negotiate the contract without the union business rep, out of respect for his friend and boss. This demonstrated to me the type of loyal person he is and I should also mention that Sergeant Emily McNamara was involved in this decision too. Congratulations to coach Tim Spezzano and his Tigers for winning the little league regular season.
