LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - APRIL 1, 2018 Visitors today (March 21, 2018) included LeRoy High School Seniors: Allyssa Na- trigo and Mary Grace Ferara, Rotarians Gary Churchill (Bat- avia Club), Tom Cox (Geneseo Club) and our speaker, Thomas Feely from I.C.E. Lauren Humphrey an- nounced that Jr Achievement is looking for volunteers for Wol- cott Street School. Sam Vagg reported that $2300 was raised from the Alumni Basketball Game and approximately 500 people attended. The game was a great success. Bob Bennett announced that Randy will be running Breakfast with Bob on Friday morning at 7:00AM. He also reported that The Greens of LeRoy residents & The Girl Scouts stuffed 6,600 Easter eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held Saturday, March 31st at Hartwood Park and thanked them for all the help. Christine Gephart announced that the first meal of the Community Kitch- en will be served on Tuesday March, 27th from 5-6 PM. All volunteers are required to take civil rights training. Other an- nouncements; Tracey Ford has tickets to Batativa's Meat Raffle and May 16th is the United Day of Caring. Randy Vink was called on for with 1 missed meeting. He claimed a make up of an Easter egg sub-committee but also pre- sented President Scott a small gift from his recent travels. Mike Tucci, Phil Plossl, Jerry McCullough, all had one Miss and elected to use a green card. Steve Falitico had two misses and two green cards. Martha Bailey had a miss and a make up. Fines were light today. Tracy Ford paid for winning a basket at the Alumni Raffle, Martha paid for a St.Patricks Day pho- to, Bob Bennett paid for wear- ing orange on St. Patricks Day and Mike Tucci paid for having won a euchre tournament. Our guest speaker was Thomas Feely from Immigra- tion and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) Tom is a LeRoy native. He graduated from LeRoy High School in 1989, served in the US Marines and after the military joined the INS. After 9/11/01 he joined the Air Marshals and from there went on to training air marshals in Atlanta. He then joined the INS again and has been assigned to various posi- tions throughout the country. He now serves as Assistant Di- rector of ICE working out Buf- falo. He is also a Member of the Senior Executive Service. Tom now resides in Le Roy with his family and is in charge of a ter- ritory that includes New York State all the way down to New York City. His jurisdiction in- cludes a 600 bed detention cen- ter in Batavia, an SRT team and multiple other resources. ICE has been focusing on capturing illegal immigrants that have committed crimes such as mur- der, rape, assault, and various other crimes.
