Town Of Byron Celebrates With "Memorial Day In The Park"
On Monday, May 29th the Town of Byron will celebrate Memorial Day with their annual Memorial Day parade followed by a festival at the Byron Presbyterian Church Park.
The parade will start on Terry Street at 11:00 a.m. and culminate with a memorial service at the Byron Cemetery. Immediately following
the parade the festivities will begin at Byron Presbyterian Church Park. There will be food, an arts and crafts sale, a plant sale, and games for children of all ages and some great music by Flint Hill Folk (sponsored by the Byron-Bergen Library through a grant with Go-Art). At 2:30 p.m. the Byron Park Committee's Duck Race will begin, and at 3:00 p.m. the Byron Fire Department will raffle off five different packages of John Deere equipment. Some of the items that are packaged are a lawn mower, a generator, a chainsaw and a power washer. Tickets can be purchased from any Byron Fireman or through Laura Platt, 548-2245.
