President Scott McCumiskey brought the meeting to order, and the club introduced the guests. Visiting from the LeRoy Central High School are seniors: Tyler Rider and Luke Stella. Each gave an update on their school activities and future plans. President Scott asked for announcements and upcoming events from the club. Sami Vagg gave an update on Interact’s up- coming alumni basketball game on March 16th. Sami also indi- cated that planning is underway for this year’s Graze to Raise scheduled for May 18th. Jim Ellison reported on last week- end’s PETs (President Elect Training) in Toronto. Sounds like Jim is very excited about the upcoming Rotary year. Christine Gephart reminded the club about the mandatory Food Link training for volunteers of the Rotary Community Kitchen on March 14th. Mary Margret announce this month’s birthdays, commenting that her and Mary Young-Mur- ray have the same birthday only “several years apart” The club welcomed the birthdays with the traditional “Home on the Range”, sung very poorly. Missed meeting where rec- ognized by President Scott: Chris Biviano (1) had an Inter- act makeup, Ben Deragon (1), Community Kitchen Makeup, Jim Ellison (1) had PETs as a accepted makeup, Christine Gephart (2) two Community Kitchen makeups, Phil Plossl (2) gave two green cards, Mike Tucci (1) Interact makeup, and Sami Vagg (1) Interact makeup. Randy Vink and Jake Whiting had one miss a piece and both had “Breakfast with Bob” as their makeup. With an influx of Rotarian vacations President Scott was presented in traditional fashion, gifts from the travels. Jim El- lison brought an Alligator foot key chain, Bob Boyce presented one Bad A** coffee mug that was apparently one of only two in LeRoy. Feeling guilty Sami Vagg gave Scott chapstick from her purse, from her visit to Flor- ida, unopened of course. The fining session began with President Scott asking Phil Plossl about his knowledge of the old Eisenhower College. As apparently Scott knew this was Phil’s Alma Mater. Phil told of the good old days and many 4.0 GPA semesters. President Scott fined Phil for his academic suc- cess and great stories. President Scott presented Martha Bailey with St. Patrick’s Day “swag”, which included beads… Presi- dent Scott commented that there were no “strings attached” to the beads. Nanette Chiulli let her upcoming vacation plans leak out and President Scott quick- ly caught her up on the totem. Bob “Sully” Sullivan had appar- ently asked President Scott to do some research, to keep that information “Top Secret” Sully paid a steep fine. Today’s program was given by long time Rotary member and Past President Lynn Bel- luscio. Lynn presented on the current efforts surrounding the preservation of LeRoy’s Marion Steam Shovel. LeRoy has a rich history of Limestone mining and it played a significant role in the building and buildings of LeRoy. Lynn gave an update on the progress of the park were the steam shovel currently sits. She also thank The Rotary Club of LeRoy for our continuing finan- cial contributions towards the project. Thank you Lynn for a great presentation. With the the drawing of the weekly 50/50 number President Scott adjourned the meeting at 1:00PM 1 Church St., LeRoy, NY 14482 585.768.2201 www.lpgraphics.net
