It was great to see the big Christmas tree donated by Andrew Lathan back in action. The Village board and some community members have been working on updating our comprehensive plan. It is going very well so far and some great ideas have been shared. Our next meeting will be Jan. 8th at the Village Hall at 6:30, all are welcome to attend. This Village belongs to us all and don’t you want to have a say in what we want the future to look like. I usually put my Thank You’s in My Thanksgiving article, but this year its going to have to be Christmas. I am thankful for my dedicated board made up of Bill Kettle, Ray Yacuzzo, Rich Tetrault and Jim Bonacquisti, for their energy and in keeping the villages business running with one eye on the fiscal side and the other on services and being positioned for the future. The four department heads of Eileen Carmel, Clerk Treasurer, Chief of Police Greg Kellogg, Waste Water Treatment chief operator Steve Carroll and DPW superintendent Bob Lathan Jr. do the heavy lifting in keeping the village running. They continuously go above and beyond to better serve you and are great professionals in their respective fields. They can’t do it alone. In the future I will name all the employees because they all do an amazing job. One of the things that has come out of our meeting is. When you think of your life here in our community, it may not be perfect, but it is pretty darn good.
