A huge thank you goes out to the FRESH committee and the LeRoy Business Council for all their efforts, not only for this event but the way they keep Main St. looking all year long. So lets take advantage of all the fun! MondayDecember 4th at 6:30pmwewill continue to update our communities comprehensive plan; everyone is invited. This will be at the village hall at 3 W. Main St. This month we are working on communications and the website; www.villageofleroy.org. At our last meeting it was discussed that citizens were posting on the LeRoy Then and Now page of things not getting done in the village. The board looked at the system and decided to be more efficient, we are going to run all issues to Deputy Clerk Katie Eick at 768-2527 x 2225. Please go this route as opposed to Facebook as it will be more efficient. The board wants to make sure everyone gets the services they deserve. The Department of public services has asked us to reach out to the community with information regarding the challenges in dealing with your monthly heating bills, their website for that is www.dps.ny.gov/winter. Please log on to see if there is a program to help you. The DPW will be making daily sweeps to pick up leaves so you don’t have to wait until they are all down to get them to the street. Please make your best efforts to keep them out of the streets. One of the many things that make our community a GREAT place to live is its spirit. It was on full display a couple of weeks ago when our varsity football team got the traditional “Hero’s Welcome” back into town with the Fire Department and Police Department escorting the team back to be welcomed by lined streets with screaming fans. This is a memory no kid forgets and this does not happen everywhere! This group last year had a chance to follow most other small schools and combine to form a football team, but chose to put it on the line maybe one last time to represent us all and came out victorious. This was our 16th football sectional title and maybe none more satisfying than this one. By the way, no other class C school in the state has that many titles. Congratulations to the team and its coaching staff. “Gratitude turns what we have into enough” Happy Thanksgiving Mayor's Corner
