The recreation program and pool are ending, but all went extremely well. Thank You to Luke Weaver and Becky Elmore and their staff for a great summer. Our sewer plant upgrade keeps gaining momentum hopefully the progress puts LeRoy in a great position going forward. The work you may have noticed on W. Main St. was an extension of the sewer main to Bob Johnson. This work was done at their expense in a necessary effort to keep the business here in our community. Its great to see them stay. The board and DPW superintendent Bob Lathan Jr. decided to use a large portion of CHIPS money to do sidewalk work on the corner of Main and Mill as well as spots on Gilbert, Church, Erie, St. Marks, and North St. We also were able to repave Bank St., Popular Lane, Lathrop Ave., and Garden Drive. The thought was that these projects were not going to get cheaper in the future, and we are trying to get the biggest bang for our bucks. We would like to thank the County for their work on these street projects. It could not be done without their support. CHIPS money is dollars that come out of Albany to municipalities for street and sidewalk projects. By the time of my next article, we will have school back in session, please drive carefully. “Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose” Lyndon B. Johnson Mayor's Corner
