LeRoy Pennysaver & News

LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - AUGUST 13, 2023 by Greg “Porp” Rogers Last week Chief Kellogg put an article in the Penny saver regarding the new white police cars. His actions to try to procurer things of use at a greatly reduced price is the spirit of our whole organization is involved with. Steve Carroll is always looking for ways to save the Village money. Bob Lathan and Eileen Carmel are too constantly researching the best ways to get thing done without cutting services. On a personal note, Friday August 4th was my last day as beer salesman, this will allow me more time to focus on village business, I do not expect big changes but it will allow me the luxury of a little more time to do things. I would like to publicly thank the LeRoy Ambulance and Josh Pfendler and Greg Kellogg for their help during my recent ambulance ride to the hospital. What a great resource this community has with LeRoy Ambulance, the fire department, and police force, when you are in need its great to have them offered so close by. Last week LeRoy ambulance lost one of its strongest supporters in Bob Boyce, for years he not only was on the[gr1] board, but was the driving force to make sure this community kept that resource, even in some very hard economic times, anyone wishing to donate to the LeRoy ambulance you can go to the web site www.leroyems.org An iconic landmark may be going away. I have been informed by Monroe County water authority, that is has plans to decommission the water tower on North Ave in favor of a new tower in Pavilion, I will keep you posted in the future of what’s going on. “ If you want change, you have to make it.
