She will be missed by her family and friends. Lois Audrey Root, 97, LeRoy, assed away peacefully, Wednesday May 10, 2023 at Anne’s House Assisted Living in Spring Hill, FL. Memorial contributions are requested to any charity of the donor’s choice. Shirley V. Frew Churchville- Passed away on on May 12, 2023 at the age of 93. Shirley is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, F. Richard Frew. She leaves behind; sons, Thomas (Anne) Frew, and Jeffrey (Marie) Frew; grandchildren, Hanna (Chris) Erion, Matt (Victoria) Frew and Lindsey (Aaron) Weaver and great grandchildren, Cameron Carlsen, Grayson Erion, Annabelle Erion, Colton Erion, Jillian Weaver, Katherine Erion, Brynn Weaver, Maddox Frew, and Alexis Frew. Shirley also leaves behind her sister; Marjorie Maas. Lastly, her special feline friend, "Lucy". Shirley was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute and aa retiree of Churchville Chili Central Schools. Mrs. Frew was best known for her quilting and creativity. In her youth, Shirley was an All State level clarinet player which resulted in her nickname, "Squeak!" She was active in her church choir and following her grandkids and great grandkids pursuits. In their early retirement years, Dick and Shirley traveled North America far and wide in their RV. A visitation will be held Monday, May 22, from 5-7pm at Walker Brothers Funeral Home (21 S Main St. Churchville, NY 14428) A Funeral service will be held Tuesday May 23, at 10 AM also at Walker Brothers Funeral Home in Churchville, NY. Burial to follow, private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Churchville Fire Dept (24 Washington St. Churchville, NY 14428). The First Presbyterian Church of Le Roy COMMUNITY GARDEN THE COMMUNITY GARDEN HAS ADDED NEW GARDEN BEDS WHICH ARE READY FOR SPRING! The Presbyterian Church at Main & Clay Streets has added several new raised-bed garden plots behind the church for the use of the community. There are 12 beds in all. The seasonal rent per 4’ x 4’ garden plot is $25 for the 2023 growing season. Included is topsoil, fertilizer, water, and tools. Just bring your seeds/plants and energy! The beds are great for apartment-dwellers, or anyone who needs a ready-made outdoor garden space that doesn’t require tilling!
