The Club has been selling tickets at many area events plus they can be purchased at Tompkins Insurance, Nanette’s Hair and Now or Save-A-Lot or tickets can also be purchased from any LeRoy Rotarian. Next, President Christine asked if there was anyone that wanted to fess up for missed meetings. Mike Tucci and Nan Chiulli said they were working and Mary Margaret Ripley said she threw her back out baking too much but after two chiropractor visits was feeling much better. The fining session was brief but informative. Proud dad, Mike Tucci paid a double, self-imposed fine for his two young daughters enjoying school and being excited about riding the bus and the fun they are having with gymnastics, soccer and other activities. Nan was fined for her and Michael and a LeRoy contingent hanging out at UB with Step-Son Xander who is attending his first year at College there. Xander is having the time of his life and Nan advised the attending seniors at the meeting to enjoy their years at college, have fun but get your work done too. The club celebrated two birthdays this month. Members Jason Karcher and Scott McCumiskey were serenaded with a rousing rendition of Home on the Range after being fined for said birthdays. Jessa Dechant was presented with a check for RAMP (Rotary Assisted Music Program) a LeRoy Rotary funded program which provides beginner music books for children at LeRoy Central School entering Band for the first time. Mrs. Dechant shared that they had over 40 new participants in Band this year and they very much appreciated Rotary funding this needed program. Program presenters for the day were Katie Bonacquisti and Kelsey Walther representing LeRoy Business Council’s subcommittee F.R.E.S.H. The F.R.E.S.H. committee was a committee formed to work on Food and Drink, Retail, Events and Attractions, Services, and Enhancement/beautification of LeRoy. The scarecrows currently on Main Street are a result of this committee and the next two events they are working on are Main Street trick-or-treating and enhancing Winterfest in LeRoy. For Winterfest they are adding horse drawn carriage rides, the high school chorus will be singing at the lighting of the tree, there will guided history tours of Main Street, Santa will be involved of course and the Main Street and Mill Street shops will all be open and having sales. There is much more to come with this committee so keep a lookout for more events and happenings. On a final note for the day the Club wanted to remember Nancy Baker, wife of longtime member Bruce Baker on her passing this past week. Nancy was and has always been an active spouse for the Club. Her smile, willingness to help and encouragement for all things Rotary always brightened every event Rotary Club of LeRoy had. The Club wishes Bruce and the entire Baker family condolences. President Christine thanked the guests and all in attendance. Without anything else for the good of Rotary the meeting was adjourned.
