It has been a trying 18 months with COVID, isolation and separation from family and friends. I truly hope this Thanksgiving finds everyone in a place where they can be truly thankful. On that note I would like to thank and draw attention to all of the generous people in our community who reach out to help those in need during not only the holiday season, but year-round. The strength of our community is its residents, their kindness and willingness to give is something to be proud of. The Town budget has been completed and approved by the Town Board. With a great deal of hard work and use of some of the town’s fund balance there will be no increase in the tax rate for 2022. We also did not do any reassessment in 2021 so your taxes should remain stable. Plans are moving forward for the spray pad at Wildwood Park for the summer of 2022. The Town and Village are also working together to try to put an ice-skating rink up for the winter. Right now, the probable location is Bunnel park. I will post more details as soon as we have them. As the election season comes to a close, I would like to thank all of the candidates that ran for office and congratulate all of the winners. The best way for our community to move forward is for people to be involved in local government. I would encourage anyone interested to get involved at any level of government that they can. Finally, I again want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I hope to see all of you around town during the holiday season supporting our local businesses.
