The Eagles won the coin toss and took the ball first which put the Knights Defense on the field to set the tone for the day. On the opening play Cam Weber busted through the line for a sack and the Defense was rolling. Carter McClurg took down the Running Back in the backfield on the next play followed by a big hit from Blake Fetzer forcing a fumble recovered by Jace Beauchamp on the 3rd play. Looking to keep momentum on their side the Knights offense took the field and on their first play Sammy Bogue took a pitch from QB Ryker VanGalio and took it to the house. On the conversion the Knights Offensive line held off the Defense long enough for VanGalio to throw a strike to Ryan Crissy in the end zone 7-0 Knights. The Eagles next possession was a lot like their first. They couldn't find an opening in the Knights defense and after 3 plays they were forced to punt. With the Knights up 7-0 their offense went back on the field and on the first play again Ryan Crissy took the hand off and went the distance for another Knights TD. 13-0 Knights. With a 2 score lead Coach VanGalio started switching up the Defense. Sending in Stone Husted, Maddox Finnin Andy Murphy and Owen Nichols. The results were the same 3 plays for the Eagles and a punt. Back on Offense the Junior Knights looked to put the game away early but the Eagles Defense wasn't ready to lay down just yet. After a big hit on first down the Knights had 2nd and 11 on the Eagles 40 yard line. That's when Owen Nichols took a hand off and went 12 yards for a 1st down. Starting the 2nd quarter the knights #2 QB Ben Biracree took a big hit behind the line pushing them back. On the next play Bogue took a lateral from VanGalio 42 yards for another Knights TD. On the conversion VanGalio followed Carter McClurg, Thomas Englerth and Jackson Hubbard into the end zone. 20-0 Knights. The Eagles 4th possession was cut short when Cam Weber hit the QB on their 2nd play forcing another fumble recovered by Jace Beauchamp giving the ball back to the Knights. After a big run by Dylan Loftus Ben Biracree got revenge for the big hit he took on the last series and took a QB sneak to the house giving the Knights a 26-0 lead going in to half time. The Knights offense took the field to start the 2nd half. With Carter McClurg taking the first hand off followed by a QB scramble by Ryker VanGalio moving the ball from the Knights 35 to the Eagles 40. On the next play VanGalio aired it out to Sammy Bogue for another Knights TD. It was 32-0 when the Eagles found a hole in the middle of the stingy Knights Defense and got on the board with a long TD of their own. With a 32-6 lead In the 3rd quarter Blake Biracree took matters in to his own hands and racing down the sidelines for another Knights TD making it 38-6 going in to the 4th quarter. After giving up their first TD of the game the knights Defense looked to make sure they didn't give up another one. As the Eagles Offense looked to build on their momentum John Amico blew up their first play tackling the QB and the running back at the same time. That play followed by big tackles by Andy Murphy and Wyatt forced the Eagles to punt again. Looking to seal the victory the Knights gave the ball to Blake Fetzer on an end around and he did the rest cutting and spinning through the defense for another TD giving the LeRoy Junior Knights their first win of the year 44-6. They will be back in action on September 11th at home vs Caledonia.
