Rent To Own 4 Mobile Home Units available at Oatka Creek MHP - 2 Black Creek MHP - 2 Call (585) 738-0953 for details C L A S S I F I E D S by Greg “Porp” Rogers Last Wednesday night the village board help their meeting and a public hearing for a proposed zoning change from R-1 to a Planned Unit Development South of East Ave. As you may expect the citizens of the neighborhood were very passionate about keeping the area just as it has been for years. But a very good point was made and that is we the board represent all of LeRoy and should listen to the people we represent. I couldn’t agree more. So, the reason the village board is entertaining this project, is because we feel that by adding to the tax base will allow us to keep a stabilized rate into the future and the best method is to increase housing. Now this project will have 30 2 unit apartment houses, each apartment 1200 SQ. Ft with a garage in a ranch style, no basements, for citizens over 50 years old and have no income restrictions. These carry no federal funding and are not for low income, rents start at $1200. There will also be between 16 and 20 single family lot to be developed on the continuation of East Ave approximately 1100 ft. The Village is prepared to spend up to a million dollars to help with infrastructure. When completed the assessed value of all properties combined will be around 8 million dollars. Now is the time to email the board through Sharon Jeary at SJeary@villageofleroy.org to let the board know if you like the idea and would support it. Or say that you believe we don’t need this. One way or another please be heard. The gazebo on the creekbank has experienced vandalism. Quite frankly we are not going to stand for it, when we catch the persons responsible, we are going to prosecute and look for restitution. So please talk to your children, as we have installed video equipment to keep this from happening again and this kind of action will not be tolerated or taken lightly. On a higher note it looks like Wolcott St. will be passable and have the blacktop binder down before the beginning of school. “The squeaky wheel gets the grease” American proverb Mayor's Corner
