LeRotary Notes The Rotary Club of LeRoy met at the LeRoy Country Club May 12th and were greeted with sunshine and great food. President Mary Margaret Ripley called the meeting to order at exactly 12:15 pm. The Pledge, Prayer and 4-Way test followed, along with introduction of guests, LeRoy School Superintendent, Merritt Holly and Business Administrator, Brian Foeller and guest Quinn Karcher had fun attending the meeting with his parents fellow members Shannon and Jason Karcher. Announcements included the Saturday, May 15th Clean- up of the Oatka Creek for the district’s Great Lake Watershed Clean-up project. The Club’s Shred-it fundraiser was a success and another date was set in September to do it again. It was also announced that if people have books they want to donate to the club for it’s REAL program (Rotary Excited about Literacy) to please bring them to the Farmers market on June 26th first thing in the morning. Next up was missed meetings. Larry Boylan was back from wintering in Arizona. Although he was gone 6 months no fine was levied because he is senior active. Gerry Aron, David Grayson, and Dasha Halladay all used the Shred-it event for their one missed meeting make-up. Martha Bailey and Jim Bonacquisti both paid for their missed meetings and Bruce Baker, also being senior active like Larry did not have to pay for missed meetings but Bruce did tell the club he got called on to work with Liz Cheney but to no avail. (This was tongue-in- cheek of course).
