LeRotary Notes The Rotary Club of LeRoy gathered virtually on April 28, 2021, with 18 members present and no guests. President Mary Margaret welcomed everyone. President Mary Margaret announced that beginning next week, the meetings will move to outdoors at the American Legion Pavilion. There will be a boxed lunch option from the D&R Depot. Martha Bailey asked about the options of being able to move the meetings back to an inside location. President Mary Margaret said she continues to work on it. President Mary Margaret thanked the few Rotarians who participated in the guided hike at Genesee County Park. Shannon Karcher also reminded the club of the upcoming Shred-it event on May 8, 2021, in the parking lot of OrCon. The event will be from 8:00-Noon. Shannon is still in need of volunteers to help with the event. It will be a drive-thru event where people will be able to have their documents safely shredded. People will be able to pay $10.00 per banker-sized box or medium kitchen bag. The event is secure and all documents will be shredding onsite by Shred-it. On May 15th, the club will help clean up some of the banks of Oatka Creek. More information to follow. President Mary Margaret also requested ideas for the installation dinner when President-Elect Ben Deragon will become the next President of the club. President Mary Margaret moved on to missed meetings. Missed meetings were sanctioned to Gerry Aron (1), Bob Bennett (1), Scott McCumiskey (1), Jake Whiting (2), and Carol Wolfe. Gerry Aron was the only member who didn’t have make-up and will be fined accordingly. President Mary Margaret moved on to the fining session. Gerry Aron was fined for his 15 years as being a driver for S&S Limousine. When asked if he had stories he could share, he said way too many. He shared the experience was fun and he was able to meet a lot of great people. David Grayson was fined for a photo on social media of his daughter who had accidentally missed her mouth and a metal straw poked her in the eye. She is fine! Jake Whiting was fined for his wife posting adorable family photos on his birthday. Betsy Halvorson was fined for her excitement around the new roof going on the public library. She said it is very welcomed! There was no formal program today. President Mary Margaret thanked everyone and adjourned at 12:36 pm.
