Missed meetings were recognized by President Mary Margaret. Missed meetings were sanctioned to Ben Deragon, Jim Ellison, Dasha Halladay, Merritt Holly, Phil Plossl, Mike Tucci, Bruce Baker, Marcia McKenzie, and Carol Wolfe. Carol Wolfe offered a gift for President Mary Margaret. Carol had supported another Rotary Club and bought President Mary Margaret an ornament for her Christmas tree. Carol talked about the long-standing tradition of bringing the president a gift when you traveled. However, due to the pandemic people are not traveling but she wanted to still offer a gift to the president. President Mary Margaret transitioned to the fining session. Jim Ellison was fined for his participation in Genesee Chorale which has been recording holiday music for the upcoming 2020 Encore fundraiser for Genesee Community College. More information can be found here: https://gccfoundationinc. org/. Jim explained all recordings were done while being socially responsible during the pandemic. Marcia McKenzie was fined for her creative thinking of holding her Thanksgiving dinner in her garage. Her son, Mike, provided a heater to make the dinner very cozy and enjoyable. Dasha Halladay was fined for her daughter, Addison. Addison is an active member of the Army National Guard and participating in training in Harrisburg, Pa right now. Bruce Baker was fined for having dinner a few weeks ago with the Boyces at the D&R Depot. Merritt Holly was fined for his family and being thankful they are all staying healthy. Merritt happily accepted the fine! Dorian Ely then presented to the club. Genesee County Office for the Aging has many programs to help support the community, but one that is in great need is delivering meals. They have seen an increase in this need during the pandemic. The officeworks hard tomeet the needs but relies on the support of volunteers. Dorian explained how there are members of our LeRoy community that need meals delivered and was hoping our club would consider this as a service project. Dorian also shared the meals are prepared through the culinary program at ARC. They currently provide meals for 160 households throughout Genesee County.
