LeRoy Pennysaver & News

LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - AUGUST 16, 2020 by Greg “Porp” Rogers At our last meeting the Board ratified my appointments of Tom Frew and John Mangefrida to the Planning Board. We are very fortunate to have two qualified and knowledgeable people step up and take these positions. Both John and Tom have served as Trustees on the Village Board. It is hard to replace Bob Dawley and Chairman Luke Weaver but rest assured with these new appointments we are in good and competent hands. Speaking of hard to replace, Jay Gsell, County Manager is retiring. This will be a difficult transition because Jay was knowledgeable in so many areas, but he really understood the workings of Albany. He led the county in a progressive way and always represented everyone in the county equally. He wanted everyone to work together for the greater good of all. “And those who were seen dancing, were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music” Fredrick Nietzsche Mayor's Corner SUMMER LUNCH FOR CHILDREN & TEENS IN LEROY : Lunches will be served on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays from 12:00 to 12:45 pm at the side entrance of St. Mark’s Church on Church St. Parking is in St. Mark’s lot across the street (on the corner of East Main and Church Sts.).
