Achievements Amy Lowe Amy Lowe of LeRoy, NY has been named to the Dean's list for the 2019 Fall semester at Bucknell University. Madeline Corcimigli Madeline Corcimigli of Bergen, NY has been named to the Dean's list for the 2019 Fall semester at Pensacola Christian College. The Rotary Club of LeRoy met for their weekly lunch meeting on January 8th. Everyone was glad to see each other again after a two-week hiatus from Christmas and New Year’s. Rotarians were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the new Chef at St. Ann’s at the Greens and were presented with a delicious lunch. The Rotarians are appreciative of St Ann’s continued hospitality. Matt Walther, from Beyonddriven was introduced by Erik fix. Matt was our guest speaker. President Mary Young Murray thanked Matt for his continued generous contributions to the LeRoy Rotary Community Kitchen. There were many announcements after our two- week break. President Mary informed the club that theArea 14 Christmas Party has been cancelled. Batavia’s Comedy Night has been postponed to the Spring. Betsy Halvorsen announced that she and Marcia Mckenzie will host another fun Game Night on January 18th. Jim Ellison shared his plans to follow up on last years membership questionnaire regarding how members would like to give back to the community. He will also be reviewing Strategic Plan progress. President Mary shared LeRoy Rotaries Organizational Chart, encouraging all Rotarians to participate in Committees. Mike Tucci, who is Chairing the Big Game Raffle, encouraged Rotarians to continue selling. Please contact a Rotarian if you would like to purchase a Big Game TV Raffle ticket. Fines were plentiful. Mary Margaret Ripley was “given” a newspaper article regarding uses of old China. Jerry McCullough was fined for going back to his Parent Corporate Division. President Mary was a bit negligent on this fine, he did so last May. Carol Wolfe was fined for the success of her annual Cookie exchange. Erik Fix’s fine was collected by selling him some “Rotatry junk” donated to Rotary. Bob Sullivan was fined for his accurate explanation of why the Bills again lost their play off game. President Mary fined Jake Whiting for the Martinis that she made for him at her Christmas Party while Carol Wolfe complained that she was not offered one! Money was taken from Betsy Halvorsen in honor of her recent graduation from Leadership Genesee. Finally, Randy was fined for being 10 minutes late and missing Birthdays. Our guest speaker today was Matt Walther from BeyonDriven Fitness and Performance. Matt’s energy level matches the name of his Gym! He explained that there are different levels of training for different age groups as well as different abilities. He went on to describe some of the types of programs that might work for various people. Matt also shared his passion for giving back to the community. Genesee County Sheriffs Office News Release The Genesee County Sheriff's Office would like to again advise residents that they have received several complaints over the past week involving the theft of motor vehicles and theft of articles from vehicles parked in private driveways and lots. These larcenies have occurr d mainly during the overnight hours. Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked, remove keys from vehicles, and to report any suspicious activity that they observe to 9-1-1.
