Luckily for me I got to experience many facets of that quality this weekend. The Annual LeRoyan of the Year dinner, offered many speakers to honor Bruno De Fazio, but through it all was an undertone of what it’s like to be part of our humble community, and how extremely lucky we are to be here. On the same day I attended the wedding of John and Danielle Whiting (congratulations), but what made the event so special is the venue was at the LeRoyan. We are so blessed to have Jim and Beth Gombrone open this historical and beautiful site for celebration and events in our community. Not everybody has this, Thank You Beth and Jim. After coaching football for 19 years, I often told the boys “No one travels like LeRoy” the support from the parents and community is second to none. EXCEPT, the LeRoy Marching Band, when they roll in people know LeRoy is in the house. The band completed a great season and placed 5th at the state competition. These are not the only two sports teams that are like this, It’s ALL teams are like this. It’s Great to be LeRoy. To add to the quality of life, in the upcoming election there will be a referendum regarding LeRoy Ambulance Service. We have been blessed for decades having this service. There is going to be an increase in taxes to continue service as it stands. So, while it appears it’s not really a competitive election for elected positions, it is still very important to come out to vote on the future of this service. The overnight parking ban goes into effect November 1st. However, after consulting with the DPW Supervisor and the Chief of Police we will not begin enforcement of the ban until the morning of Friday, November 15, 2019. Officers will issue warning tickets until that time. This is to make residents aware the ban is coming and alert new residents to the winter parking ban. “No one travels like LeRoy, Go Knights”
