We had no guests today. Upcoming programs include Kyle Hobart presenting the Immigration and Customs Enforcement on June 12th and Scott McCumiskey’s program on June 19th. Upcoming Events included the Strategic Planning and inaugural evening meeting on June 7th at Capish, The Meat Raffle on June 15th, Rotary Excited About Literature Book Giveaway on June 29th and the Rotary Hot Dog Stand on July 13th. Also, Tammy Arneth is planning the June 21st Annual Installation Banquet at LeRoy CC where President-elect Mary Young will take over from President Jim. Announcements included these service opportunities: Le Roy Rotary Community Kitchen Free Dinner on June 11th and 25th, Rotary Archives and Strategic Planning and the ongoing Clothing drop at the ARC in Batavia for the victims of sexual assault. Don’t forget the Friday morning meeting affectionately called “Breakfast with Bob” on June 28th. The “Rotary Minute” today was dedicated to reviewing the results of our membership event on May 23rd. Our first new Rotarian is Jim Bonacquisti. Several others are moving through the approval process. These folks were called upon formissedmeetings: Bruce Baker, Christine Gephart, Betsy Halvorsen, Tim Moag, Merritt Holly, and Mary Young. Few people were spared during the fining session. Bruce Baker paid up for a Day of Caring T-shirt because Nancy did the work of two people at the Hope Center. Betsy Halvorsen covered the fee for a photo of an “Anti-fish” story where she actually caught two fish at one time! Tim Moag “stepped out” on the internet. Christine Gephart spent “Happy Bucks” for the Mill Street playground clean-up where the EarlyAct Club partnered with the Le Roy Police to make a dramatic improvement in the neighborhood. Tammy Arneth had a great time “going back to college”! David Grayson shared some Happy News about his family. Scott McCumiskey paid the price for missing a trivia question. Jason Karcher paid for his meat winnings as an unapologetic plug for our upcoming meat raffle. Merritt Holly covered the cost of the Le Roy Varsity Baseball Sectional Win. We experimented with our first panel discussion as a program. The idea was to help Rotarians get to know each other better. Bob Bennett, Bob Boyce, Tammy Arneth, Scott McCumiskey and Mary Margaret Ripley shared their thoughts in response to various questions posed by President Jim fromThe Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D. It was a unique opportunity to learn about how these Rotarians view their values, beliefs, love, money, sex, integrity, generosity, pride, and life in general. Considering the participants, you will have no doubt that multiple belly laughs were enjoyed by all! Remember to “like” them on Facebook: “Rotary Club of LeRoy”, Or visit leroyrotary. org.
