They help sponsor the local news section of the Le Roy Pennysaver. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT! LeRotary Notes As the sun has finally come out, a rowdy, high energy meeting was brought to order by Mary Young, Acting in place of President Jim. A very boisterous Pledge of Allegiance was completed and a prayer by Rotarian Bob Carlsen got us going. The Graze to Raise is May 17th and there are still some openings on the sign-up sheet. Rotarian Tom Feeley asked Rotarian Sami Vagg if there was more she could do for our community (insert sarcasm). Rotarian Sami Vagg responded with a “thanks for being such a good friend” in pointing that out. Next Tuesday, May 21st the Rotary Earlyact Club will be sprucing up the Mill Street Park with the LeRoy Police Department. “Culinary” expertise will be provided by the LeRoy Police Department Chefs. Our membership event & Thirsty Thursday will be held May 23rd at the Creekside Inn. Please bring someone you think would be a great member. Members who do not show will be flogged, publicly, with a wet noodle, by Mary Young. We will also be having a Meat Raffle and only 200 tickets will be sold. Rotarian Jason Karcher reminded everyone that the Oatka Festival is rapidly approaching, and volunteers will be needed for the food stand. Rotarian Ron Pangrazio shared with the Rotary that our very own Rotarian Bob “Sully” Sullivan was inducted into the Batavia Music Hall of Fame! Outstanding news! When asked to what he credited this great honor, Sully replied, “I think they took the oldest people they could find.” We all know the truth, proud of our Rotarian “Sully.” Fines were handed out in a fast and furious manner by Mary. Tim Moag, Nan Chiulli, Tony Gugino, and Betsy Halvorsen all “busted out the Benjamins”. Martha, Jason, and Ben all had a ton of make ups from serving their community. Christine wasn’t so lucky as she was fined for getting stiches… while volunteering. Glad you are “back together”! Nanette was also fined for knocking the Mom Prom out of the park. Larry Boylan was fined as he returns from working on his tan lines in Phoenix. Bart, who was celebrating his Anniversary with Rotary, since 1985, was also fined. Not to be out done, our guest Jackie Whiting fined herself for eating two gourmet lunches with the Rotary Club. Our guests, Brian Foeller and Jackie Whiting, were brought in by Rotarian Merritt Holly to present the school’s budget proposal for next year. It was a great presentation! Don’t forget to vote next week! Did you know that LeRoy HS is in the top 9% of schools nationally and in the top 8% for NY? They are also the #1 school in Genesee County and the #2 school in the Genesee Valley! We didn’t know either. Great job to all the staff and administrators who make this happen!
