You may have noticed the Christmas trees on the creek bank. They are courtesy of the Interact Group (a part of Rotary), the same group that brought the home town hero banners to our community. This project is called Christmas Around the World, with each tree representing another country, so don’t just drive by and admire their beauty get out and see what each tree is about. Thanks to the Rotary, Sam Vagg and all the students for your civic participation, and to all the parents who have raised such community minded children, who are on the path accomplish more great things, they have gotten off to a great start. The Winterfest and Christmas tree lighting will be on Dec.1, with festivities going all day and the tree lighting at 6:00 pm. Earlier in the year the Board talked about selling the lot on the corner that plays host to the tree in the season, that is still on the table and the Board is doing its due diligence. Rest assured any change in ownership will come with an understanding that the tree goes up every season as this has become a huge part of our community. School Resource Officer Heath Mattingly has decided to take a fulltime position elsewhere, we wish Heath the very best, he really did a great job and we hate to lose him. He will be replaced by Casey Chatley and we are very confident Casey will take over were Heath left off. We finally got the go ahead from the DEC to do our dam gate project, that should start around December 3rd. Being Thanksgiving, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the job all the village employees do, we are blessed with a loyal and diligent work force. The people who manage the departments, Sharon Jeary, Bob Lathan, Chief Chris Hayward and Steve Carroll are simply the best. I personally can’t thank these people enough for keeping this village running. Lastly, I would like to thank all of you who put your trust in myself and our board. Have a great Thanksgiving! “ If you chase two rabbits, you will lose them both” Native American
