Batavia would score 2 in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead. Batavia would get out of the inning not allowing any runs in the top of the 3rd as Antonio Martinez was tagged out on a very close play at home to end the inning. Then the rains came. Batavia took a commanding lead as the teams attempted to play through the weather in the bottom of the 3rd, scoring 8 runs. 2 walks and 3 errors in the inning contributed to Batavia’s total. LeRoy would win the coin toss and choose to be the home team. Drew Strollo would get the start for LeRoy and was masterful. Their pitcher would strike out 8 of the first 9 LeRoy batters he faced. Down 2-0 in the bottom of the 3rd, LeRoy’s Drew Strollo would work a 1 out walk. After a striking out the next batter, Strollo would advance to 2nd on a passed ball. After Batavia worked the bases loaded in the 5th, Ryan Shirley would relieve Strollo and only allow 1 run to score. In the 6th, Batavia once again worked the bases loaded however this time, would score 3 runs to make the score 6-0. In true LeRoy fashion, our boys would not go down without a fight. From Coach McKenzie, Fix, and Strollo: Thank you boys for the memories each of you have given us over the last 4+ years.
