Yankees 7 Indians 5 In the top of the first the Yankees defense behind the pitching of Luke Lathan would hold the Indians score- less. Chase Cummings would get the start on the mound for the Indians. In the bottom half of the inning the Yankees leadoff hitter Xavien Walker drew a walk followed by a Jake Higgins single. Walker would score in the inning on a sacrifice bunt by Simon Green. Both teams were held scoreless in the second. In the top of the third the Indians would get a run after Cole Tonzi singled. Chase Cummings singled, followed by a Cal Koukides single. Iaein Frawley would then single to bring in Tonzi. The Yankees would get out of the top of the 2nd giving up 1 run to tie the game at 1 to 1. In the bottom of the third the Yan- kees would score 2 runs after Xavien Walker doubled and was then scored on a Jake Higgins RBI triple. Higgins was later scored on an Andrew Pocock RBI double. Hunter Beverly also added a hit in the inning but was left on base. After 3 Yankees 3 Indians 1. In the top of the 4th the Yankees would keep the Indians off the board. In the bottom half of the inning the Yan- kees bats came to life. Joey Biletski started things off with a single, followed by a Jake Higgins single. Simon Green would then draw a walk. Luke Lathan then hit a 2 RBI double to score Bilets- ki and Higgins. Not to be outdone, Andrew Pocock then followed Lathan with a 2 RBI double of his own to score Greene and Lathan. After 4 innings the Yankees now led 7-1. The Indians were not done yet and fought back in the fifth inning batting through the order. CJ Zalins- ki reached base, Cal Koukides, Iaein Frawley and Austin Bogue all singled with Bogue adding an RBI to score Zalinski. The Indians would then draw three walks to score Koukides, Frawley, and Bogue. The Yankees would survive the inning leaving the bases loaded. The Indians would hold the Yankees score- less in the bottom half of the inning and the Yankees would return the favor and hold the Indians scoreless in the 6th. Fi- nal score Yankees 7 Indians 5. Hitting for the Yankees, Xavien Walker was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Jake Higgins was 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs. Andrew Pocock was 2 for 3 with a dou- ble and 2 RBIs. Hunter Beverly was 2 for 3. Luke Lathan added a double, 2 RBIs and scored a run. Joey Biletski singled and scored a run. For the Indi- ans both Cal Koukides and Iaein Fraw- ley each went 2 for 4 and scored. Austin Bogue and Cole Tonzi both added sin- gles and scored. A's 14 White Sox 10 In the penultimate game of the 2018 Little League season the A’s and White Sox faced each other for the third time. Following a pitcher’s duel two weeks ago, this game was going to be anyone’s to win as both teams were looking to keep the arms fresh for the playoffs. The White Sox would take com- mand early as pitcher Tommy (Smooth) Condidorio would keep the A’s bats at bay striking out 8 of the 9 batters he faced. The White Sox bats helped out scoring 7 runs in the first 3 innings behind hits by Jude Sherman, Landen Saeva, Condidorio and Parker Dowell. After 3 innings, the Sox looked to be cruising with a 7-0 lead. The A’s would get three back in the top of the 4th. Sin- gles by Grady Gilligan, Jake Elmore, Hayven Cordes were joined by doubles by Kaden Berger and Jackson Fix to cut into the lead 7-3. The White Sox would answer back in the bottom of the inning scoring two more runs when Saeva would reach on error and Condidorio would follow it up with a double to the gap in left center. A fielder’s choice RBI by Brayden Chase would score Condidorio and the Sox lead would go to 9-3. The A’s bats would come alive in the 5th and 6th innings scoring 11 runs to take 14-9 lead. Multiple hits by Zach Tooley and Connor Elmore would be joined by hits from Fix, Gilligan, Cordes, Berger and Jay Lathan. Jordon Green picked up a walk and RBI field- er’s choice as well. The Sox would get one back in the bottom of the 6th when Condidorio would crush a double and again score on a Chase fielder’s choice to make the Final 14-10 A’s. The A’s would use a combination of Fix, Tooley, Gilligan and Cordes on the mound. They would combine for 10 strikeouts. Kalob Lang and Kyle Northrup would provide great defense in the outfield for the A’s to help the hurlers on the mound. Northrup also had the only hit of the game against Condidorio. Joey Costa and Jude Sher- man relieved Condidorio. They com- bined for 4 strikeouts. The win moves the A’s to 6-10, while the White Sox fall to 4-12. Red Sox 10 Tigers 6 The Red Sox and Tigers squared off on Saturday in what was the last regular season game of the 2018 sea- son. Neither squad disappointed as both teams played very well. The Sox were able to come away with the 10-6 victory. The Tigers wasted no time as they jumped out to an early 4-0 after the first inning. Jackson Spezzano and Josh Noble both doubled and scored in the inning. Connor Hegeman(single) and Alex Spezzano rounded out the scoring in the frame. The Sox were unable to score despite base hits by Joe Stepha- ny(single) and Tony Martinez(double). After a scoreless second the Sox got on the board in their half of the third. Again it was Stephany and Martinez do- ing the damage. After a Stephany single, Martinez blasted his third home run of the season to cut the Tiger lead to 4-2. Wyatt Draper was left stranded after hit- ting a double in the inning. After a quiet fourth inning the Tigers answered in their half of the fifth. Hegeman lead off with a single to set the stage for the second home run of the game. This time it was Lily Uberty blasting a 2-run shot over the left cen- ter field wall to extend the Tigers lead to 6-2. The Sox responded though in their half of the fifth. Seven Red Sox players scored in the inning that would eventually give the Sox a 10-6 lead. Pe- ter Clark’s triple and 2 run single from Alex Stephany highlighted the inning that saw Joey Stephany drive in Zander Cole and Jayce Panepento with his third hit of the day, this time a double. The Sox held them scoreless in the sixth to preserve the win. J. Steph- any pitched the first 1 1/3 and struck out 2. Martinez pitched the next 4 1/4 innings while striking out 5. Draper re- corded the final out. For the Tigers, Hegeman pitched the first 2 1/3 innings and struck out 7. Uberty threw 1 2/3 innings and struck out 3. A.Spezzano pitched an inning and struck out 1.
