Jake Higgins followed Walker with an RBI single. The Yan- kees would bat through the order in the inning and get hits from Simon Green, Avante Walker and Cam Maxwell. In their second appearances at the plate in the inning, Xavien Walker, Jake Hig- gins, Luke Lathan, and Andrew Poco- ck would add singles. Xavien Walker and Higgins would score twice in the inning, while Andrew Pocock, Simon Green, Joey Biletski, Avante Walker, and Cam Maxwell would each add a run in the inning for the Yankees. Andrew Pocock took on the pitching duties for the Yankees and would allow hits to Iaein Frawley and Cal Koukides in the bottom of the first inning. Both Indi- ans hitters would be left on base in the inning. In the top of the second inning the Yankees would score four more runs after singles by Cam Maxwell and Jake Higgins, Xavien Walker added a triple in the inning and Andrew Pocock dou- bled. Maxwell, Higgins, Walker, and Luke Lathan who reached base on a walk would all score in the inning to put the Yankees up 13-0. In the bottom of the second the Indians would get on the board after singles by Will Bogan, Joey Vernac- cini, and Maicen McKenzie. Bogan would score in the inning to make the game 13-1. In the top of the 3rd Indi- ans held the Yankees scoreless. In the bottom of the inning, the Indians would add 2 runs. Cal Koukides led off with a double and was scored on an Austin Bogue RBI double. Bogue would also score in the inning making it 13-3 in favor of the Yankees. In the top of the fourth the Yankees would add a run af- ter Xavien Walker doubled and then was later scored on an Andrew Pocock RBI single. The Indians were held scoreless in the bottom half of the inning 13-3. In the top of the fifth the Yankees bats would come alive again. Jacob Tracy drew a walk, Xavien Walker and Jake Higgins both singled and then Luke Lathan hit a 3 RBI double to clear the bases. Andrew Pocock would then dou- ble to bring in Lathan, making the score 18-3. The Indians would add a run in the bottom half of the inning after Cal Koukides again doubled and was scored on an Ieain Frawley RBI single. In the sixth the Yankees added 2 more after Hunter Beverly and Jacob Tracy singled and scored in the inning. Xavien Walker, Jake Higgins, and Luke Lathan also singled but were left on base. Final score Yankees 20 Indi- ans 4. Andrew Pocock pitched a terrific game for the Yankees striking out 11 batters. Pitching for the Indians were Austin Bogue, Ieain Frawley, Cal Kou- kides, and Chase Cummings. Tigers 9 White Sox 2 The Tigers jumped out to an ear- ly 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Jackson Spezzano doubled with one out followed by a RBI triple by Connor He- geman, RBI double by Lily Uberty and RBI single by Josh Noble. The Tigers would add another run in the 2nd in- ning when Alex Spezzano scored on an RBI double by Connor Hegeman. The White Sox answered in their half of 2nd inning. Tommy Condidorio scorched a leadoff double and scored on Joey Reschke’s 2 out double to right center field. Tigers 4, White Sox 1. In the top of the 3rd inning the Tigers tacked on a run on a 1 out single by Josh Noble and RBI by Noah Kaczanowski. The White Sox would be held scoreless in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Tigers 5, White Sox 1. The White Sox would cut the lead to 5-2 in the bottom of the 4th. Landen Saeva reached on a single and scored on Brayden Chase’s RBI ground out. Tigers 5, White Sox 2. The Tigers would answer with one of their own to lead off the 5th inning. Lily Uberty, after a leadoff double, would score on a RBI by Noah Kaczanowski. The Ti- gers would tack on 3 more runs in the 6th inning. Alex Spezzano singled and reached 3rd on consecutive passed balls. Jackson Spezzano followed with an RBI single and scored on a RBI double by Connor Hegeman. Hegeman would cross home plate for the last run of the game on an RBI by Noah Kaczanowski. Connor Hegeman earned the com- plete game win for the Tigers, allowing 3 hits and striking out 12. Leading the Tigers offensively were Jackson Spez- zano who was 3-3 with 2 runs, a dou- ble and 2 RBI. Connor Hegeman, Lily Uberty and Josh Noble were all 2-4. Hegeman added to 2 runs, a double, triple and RBI. Uberty scored twice and Noble added a run and RBI. Noah Kaczanowski added a hit and 3 RBI and Sierra Burk added a hit. Tommy Condidorio was 2-2 with a walk and run scored for the White Sox. Landen Saeva added two hits and a run scored. Joey Reschke recorded a double and a RBI. Tommy Condidorio started on the mound for the White Sox and went 4 1/3 innings while striking out 7. Jude Sherman pitched the final 1 2/3 innings. A’s 9 Red Sox 7 (7 innings) It took extra innings for the A’s to defeat the Ref Sox and pick up their third win of the season. The Red Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Antonio Martinez and Wyatt Draper scores on a “Little League” play. Following a walk to Draper Martinez was hit in the head on an attempted steal sending both runners to the plate. The A’s would get one back in the top of the third when a Zach Tooley double to the gap would score Grady Gilligan. Two more in the bottom of the innings by the Red Sox would give them a 4-1 lead after Marti- nez would get an inside the park homer that scored Josh Horner. A single by Kaden Berger and double by Jackson Fix in the 4th wound get the A’s a bit closer as they trailed 4-3 going into the 5th. Berger would agin come up big as he singled in Tooley to tie the game. The Red Sox would get three in the bottom of the inning as Joey Stephany, Martinez and Draper would score thanks to a Peter Clark single, giv- ing the Sox a 7-4 lead. The A’s rallied in the sixth as they strung together three hits sandwiched with two walks to tie the game at 7. Zach Tooley would relieve A’s starter Ryan Shirley and shut out the Sox in the bottom of the inning. Back to back dou- bles by Jackson Fix and Grady Gilligan would give the A’s the lead they coveted all game 9-7. Tooley would provide the RBI’s and again shut the Sox out in the bottom of the 7th to secure the win. Twins 10 White Sox 9 Mother Nature has been quite moody at times this Little League sea- son but Wednesday night May 16th she gave us a gem for the second meeting of the year between the Twins and the White Sox. The Twins came out swing- ing as 5 of the 7 batters facing Joey Costa on the mound for the White Sox picked up hits. Jake Iten & Tony Pi- azza each singled but Jake would get thrown out trying to get to 2nd base before Ayden Riggi’s RBI double. Jack Egeling stepped into the box for an RBI single and Cameron Riggi rounded out the 1st inning hits with a solid single to right field. Ayden Riggi took the mound first for the Twins with a 2-0 lead that was quickly erased by some stumbling in the field for the Twins. White Sox plated 4 runs in their half, thanks to a 2B hit from Jude Sherman, an RBI 2B hit from Landen Saeva; Tommy Condidorio reaching on an error and a single from Joey Costa. The Twins did not give up though, plating 4 more runs of their own in the 2nd thanks to Gaven Myers start- ing things off hitting the 1st pitch he saw to right field recording his FIRST Ca- reer Little League hit. Congratulations Gaven!! Evan Rose picked up a single, Piazza picked up 2 RBI’s with his 2nd hit of the game. Egeling saw his 2nd & 3rd RBI’s of the contest after A. Riggi singled. Things would get a little crazy for the Twins in the 3rd as the White Sox were able to put up a quick inning after Dylan Maciag singled & Myers reaching on an error Costa was able to record a strikeout. AdamWoodworth hit a pop fly for out 2 but the runners would fail to tag up and Maciag was tagged near home to end the inning. This was a back and forth scoring game with plen- ty of hits, runs and nail biting from the coaching staff in both dug outs!! Final score was 10-9 Twins. Joey Costa and Parker Dowell combined for 8K’s, 1 BB for the sox as most everyone chipped in with hits. Jude Sherman, Landen Saeva and Tom- my Condidorio all got doubles and each scored 2 runs apiece. Also hitting for the White Sox, Joey Costa, Brayden Chase, Joey Reschke and Liam Grayson. Park- er Dowell reached base on an error and came around to score. Ayden Riggi, Tony Piazza and Jake Iten pitched for the Twins com- bining for 10K’s and 3BB. Tony Piazza had himself a night leading the Twins hitting by going 4-4 with a 2B, 3RBI’s and scoring 3 runs. Jack Egeling and Ayden Riggi both had good games each going 3-4, both picking up 2B as well as snagging 3 RBI’s a piece. Ayden scored 3 times while Brother Cameron Riggi picked up 2 hits and an RBI. Jake Iten, Gaven Myers (1st), Dylan Maciag & Evan Rose each got a hit for the Twins. Twins have a busy few days ahead as they play Friday @6, Saturday @ 1 & Monday @ 6. Orioles 5 Indians 2 The Orioles and Indians faced off for the first time this season on Wednes- day night. The Orioles got thing started early. Walks to Drew Strollo and Holden Sullivan set the table for Jace Jedrewski, who hammered a two out single to score Strollo. Martin MacConnell followed suit with a double to plate two, giving the Orioles an early 3-0 lead. The Indi- ans answered back in the bottom of the first. Chase Cummings turned a single and passed ball into a run as he drew a throw to third after a groundout and scored on the overthrow. The second inning saw no scoring, however the Orioles extended their lead in the top of the third. Merritt Holly singled early in the inning, and Josh Pfendler eventually singled him home to make the score 4-1. That score did not last long however as the Indians an- swered back in the bottom of the inning. Cole Tonzi would walk, and eventually score on an error in the field, cutting the lead to 4-2 Orioles. In the top of the 4th, pitcher Drew Strollo would buy himself some insur- ance with some instant offense. Strollo doubled and eventually scored on a passed ball, extending the lead to 5-2. On the mound Strollo settled in nicely for the second half of the game, scatter- ing 3 hits and allowing no more runs to secure the complete game victory. Drew Strollo led the Orioles of- fensively with a line of deuces, going 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Martin MacConnell added a double and 2 RBI. Singling for the Orioles were Adrian Stephens, Merritt Holly (run), Jace Jedrewski (run, RBI), and Josh Pfendler (RBI). Holden Sullivan drew a walk and scored. On the mound, Strollo and catcher Sullivan worked masterful- ly together. Strollo earned the complete game victory, with 10 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Ieian Frawley and Maicen McK- enzie shared pitching duties for the Indians. Hitting for the Indians were McKenzie (single), Cummings (2 sin- gles, 1 run), Frawley (single), and Aus- tin Bogue (single). Tigers 12 Red Sox 2 The visiting Red Sox would get on the board in the top of the 1st inning taking a 1-0 lead. Tony Martinez, who reached on a walk, would come home to score on a failed pickoff attempt at third. Red Sox 1, Tigers 0. The Tigers answered with one of their own in the bottom of the 1st when Alex Spezzano, who reached on leadoff double, came home to score on a passed ball. Tigers 1, Red Sox 1. The Tigers would open the game up in the 2nd inning. Aidan Weaver, CamWilson, Matt Covert, Alex Spezzano and Jackson Spezzano all sin- gled consecutively with both Spezzano brothers recording RBI’s. After Connor Hegeman reached on a fielder’s choice, Josh Noble hit a RBI double and Sier- ra Burk a RBI single. In all the Tigers would plate 6 runs. Tigers 7, Red Sox 1. The Tigers scored two more runs in the 3rd inning. With two outs Alex Spez- zano singled followed by a RBI double by Jackson Spezzano and RBI single by Connor Hegeman. Tigers 9, Red Sox 1. Matt Covert would add a RBI sac- rifice fly in the 4th inning scoring Josh Noble who reached on a leadoff single. Tigers 10, Red Sox 1. In the fifth the Tigers would round out their scoring for the game when Jackson Spezzano led off with a single followed by a double by Connor Hegeman, RBI single by Sierra Burk and RBI double by Noah Kaczanowski. Tigers 12, Red Sox 1. The Red Sox added their final run in the top of the 6th inning when Tony Marti- nez scored after a leadoff triple. Tigers 12, Red Sox 2. Jackson Spezzano went the full 6 innings on the mound for the Tigers allowing 3 hits and striking out 8. Of- fensively, Alex Spezzano was 3-4 with 3 runs scored, a double and 1 RBI. Jackson Spezzano was 3-4 with 2 runs scored, a double and 2 RBI. Connor Hegeman was 3-4 with 2 runs scored, a double and RBI. Josh Noble and Sierra Burk were both 2-4 with Noble scoring 2 runs, a double and RBI and Burk add- ing 2 RBI. Aidan Weaver added a hit, run scored and RBI.
