LeRotary Notes The Rotary Club of LeRoy held it’s weekly meeting on April 25, 2018. President Scott Mc- Cumiskey brought the meeting to order, and the club introduced the guests. Today’s presenter from the LeRoy Central School Dis- trict, Brian Foeller. Also, visiting from the Rotary Club of Batavia Gary Churchill. President Scott asked for announcements and upcoming events from the club. Sami Vagg reminded the club about the up- coming Mom Prom May 10th and of course May 18th’s Graze to Raise which supports the Milne Scholarship Fund. Bob Bennett asked the club to save the date of October 28th, the date of this year’s Appliance Raffle. This year’s appliance raffle will be the club’s 30th annual. President Scott also reminded the club that President Elect Jim Ellison’s In- stallation Dinner will be June 29th. Staying with LeRoy Rotary tradition several Rotarians that had recently traveled present- ed President Scott with gifts from their destinations. David Grayson brought back from Hilton Head, SC the “apparent” game of choice of pirates a set of marbles. Bob Boyce presented President Scott with a University of Florida hat and David Frost brought Presi- dent Scott some “Water” from the fountain of youth in St. Augus- tine, FL. President Scott thanked them all. The fining session began with President Scott asking Lynne Belluscio about the recent ac- tivities of the LeRoy Historical Society. President Scott was in- terested in the booking process of the group “The Rochester Rag- ing Grammas” which performed recently in LeRoy. Lynne stated that the group had actually sough her out. Lynne was fined for her excellent work spotlighting wom- en suffrage in LeRoy. Jake Whit- ing was fined for a recent pur- chase, his wife and he have a new home. Mary Margret Ripley was fined for her “sideways” video of the surprise ceremony of her hus- band Scott being recognized by LeRoy Little League. The press box is now named the “Scott Rip- ley Press Box.” President Scott fined Bob Bennett for not taking his wife Lori out for her birthday. Instead choosing to stay home with the dogs. President Scott then had the privilege to induct our newest member, Jim Frascatti. Jim owns and operates the Capish! Restau- rant in LeRoy. Today’s program was given by the Superintendent of LCSD Merritt Holly and Brian Foeller the district’s Business Admin- istrator. The two presented the districts 2018 -2019 budget. They also highlighted the schools suc- cesses from the year past. The school was recently recog-nized for its successful music program and has great participation. The schools continues to have sever- al strong athletic programs in- cluding a great showing for the Cheerleaders who when to states this year. Merritt reported on next years anticipated personnel vacancies and the status of the school’s resource officer. Thank you Merrit and Brian!
