First, the Board has adopt- ed the 2019 budget calendar. Yes, there is a very short “off season” from the budget pro- cess, from calendar adoption in April to budget adoption in November (and, of course, the audit in between). One item we are hoping will relieve some pressure is that we just award- ed the bid for the transfer sta- tion. We will not be looking to increase any fees this year and are hopeful the new structure will result in decreased losses. There will be some organiza- tional changes in our set-up at the transfer station site that I will notify you of in the near future. The next two items involve our partnership with the Coun- ty. First, they are applying for a state grant that will allow for monies the help repair bridges and culverts. Called “Bridge NY”, should the County re- ceive the grant, LeRoy is on the list to have culverts on Randall Rd. and Quinlan Rd. repaired. Secondly, I just received the environmental paperwork for Phase Two of the county-wide water upgrade project (de- signed to increase the volume of water supplied to the entire county). For LeRoy specifical- ly, once this project gets un- derway, it will result in a 16” main line coming from Monroe County into LeRoy along a portion of Vallance Rd., cross- ing under the NYS Thruway, connecting onto North Rd., then traveling west connecting to the pump station (which will also receive upgrades) at the corner of North Rd. and Lake St. Rd., and then establishing a new main from the pump station north to Griswold Rd. This will allow for a variety of options to explore for provid- ing (Monroe County) water to folks in this area. Phase Three (in the future) looks to take a main down Griswold Rd. to Rt. 33 and on in to Batavia, provid- ing more opportunities for rural LeRoy residents in this area. I am sure, as this project unfolds, it will receive a lot of media at- tention. I will keep you updated as to the impact on the Town of LeRoy. Thank you and see you Around Town.
