The DPW provides winter stor- age for the planters and places them each spring in front of businesses agreeing to provide daily watering assistance. Garden Club members also plant and maintain the land- scaped beds located on West Main Street, Lake Street, and Wolcott Street, as well as the plantings at the Statue of Liber- ty and the Gazebo on the banks of the Oatka Creek, the Wolcott Street School sign, and the en- trance to the Presidential Acres. In addition, each December the members decorate the Wood- ward Memorial Library and the Post Office window boxes for the holiday season. The Town and Country Garden Club hosts an Annual Plant Auction, and a substantial portion of the proceeds are used to pay for all of the plants and other supplies needed to pro- vide these Village beautification projects. This year's Auction, which is open to the public, will be held at 6:00 pm on June 6 in Olmsted Hall at the First Pres- byterian Church. The Village of Le Roy has long been a charming setting on the Oatka Creek, and it con- tinues to be a source of pride for its residents. The Town and Country Garden Club welcomes all comments and suggestions regarding its projects, and it is open to anyone wishing to join in their efforts to keep Le Roy looking beautiful in the years to come.
