Within their club meetings, the stu- dents identified several issues and have ultimately decided that they would like to honor our local active duty military per- sonnel through a project they’ve named, “Le Roy Rotary Inter- acts Hometown Hero’s Project.” A group of student rep- resentatives from the Interact Club attended the Le Roy Vil- lage Board meeting on February 5 to request their support. The students put together an impres- sive presentation describing the project details and how they plan to fund it. They brought along two local Marines to de- scribe their experiences in the military. The marines noted that they went into this line of work to serve their country, not ex- pecting any recognition but that this is a wonderful, and much appreciated project. The Rotary Interact stu- dents requested permission to utilize Main Street light poles, as well as support from our lo- cal DPW to assist in hanging the banners. The decision from the board was unanimously ap- proved and the students were applauded for their great work.
