LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - JANUARY 28, 2018 Cub Scout Pack 23 2018 Camp-In event last friday at Holy Family School Gym. The members of Cub Scout Pack 23 participated in their annual "Camp-in" at Our Lady of Mercy Parish Center. It's an annual event that members of Pack 23 look forward to every year. This year's event consist- ed of games, songs and skits, and completing skill require- ments for the cub scout's next badges. The boys learned about the importance of teamwork throughout the night. We end- ed the night around our indoor campfire, which consisted of creatively organizing Christmas lights within approxmately 12 pieces of stacked firewood. Af- ter a closing prayer by Father Justin from Our Lady of Mer- cy Parish, it was time for bed. "Taps" was played and then it was lights out. Everyone had a lot of fun is looking forward to having the event again next year. The event began just after 7 o'clock when the first campers arrived to set up their tents in- side the gym at the parish cen- ter. The boys from the Bear Den were completing a requirement for their next badge by accom- plishing this task.
