CLIP & SAVE Mayor's Corner by Greg "Porp" Rogers The next Village Board meet- ing will be Monday, January 8th at 7:00 pm. This meeting is open to the public and will be on the De- Paul project on Mill Street. Again, this year Andrew Lathan and his crew put up our Christmas tree on the corner of Rts. 5 & 19. We get so many out -of -towners who are impressed by the tree and the community as a whole. The tree has really become a huge part of the winter season and something to be very proud of. Thanks to Andrew, his wife, and crew for adding to the charm of Le- Roy. During elections, I try never to get involved and let them run their course, so I am taking this time to acknowledge two of my trust- ees. Bob Taylor and Bill Kettle. Bob has said he is not running again, but I will try to talk him out of it. He has served many years and under many Mayors. Bob always brings the word on the street back to the board and is very fiscally responsible and a large part of why the village is in the shape it is today. If you see Bob please thank him for his years of diligent service. Bill Kettle will be seeking re-elec- tion in March. Bill is as solid of a board member as I have ever served with, and that is a very esteemed list. Bill is never afraid to ask the hard questions, and try to figure out the best solution. We are very fortunate to have someone like Bill in this position. We are going to attempt to have ice skating on the creek, next weekend at this time. Jack- ie Whiting and Bob Lathan are working out the details, old man winter has done his part. We will try to put a sign of some kind on the creek bank to let people know the times for skating.
