Douglas Irwin, son of Mary Marga- ret Ripley and Past Le Roy Rotarian Bob Jones joined us as guests. Maureen Es- tabrooks from Genesee County Office for the Ag- ing and Karen Hall from Lifespan joined us to be our program today. We acknowledged the birthdays of Christie Lo- Tempio, Lauren Hum- phrey, and David Frost. Announcements includ- ed, REAL (Rotary Excited About Literature) on June 25th at the Farmer’s Market and our annual Installation Dinner at The Caledonia Village Inn on 6/29. The Installation Dinner is a celebration of our past year’s ac- complishments and a celebration of the incoming president. As our Rotary year comes to a close, President Tony tried to get everyone caught up on the totem. Chris Biviano, Erik Fix, David Grayson, Martha Bailey, and Tom McGinnis were all tagged for missed meetings. Chris Biviano was fined for putting his house up for sale. Eric Fix paid up for a winning the Leadership Genesee Golf Tournament. TomMcGinnis was the lucky winner of a wheel barrow full of goodies. Tom paid up for that and for a beautiful wedding for his daughter. Carol Wolfe was fined for a lovely trip to our state’s capitol to visit her family. Anil Sawhney offered an update on other organizations he is involved in. Maureen Estabrooks gave a detailed overview of the services that Genesee County Office for the Aging provides. The Genesee County Office for the Aging (OFA) offers a variety of programs and services to all county residents who are age 60 and over. It is the mission of the Genesee County Office for the Aging to provide information, support and advocacy to our res- idents 60 years of age and older, their caregivers and disabled persons of all ages. Their aim is to promote independence and improve quality of life. The ser- vices they offer include: Caregiv- er Support Services, EISEP (In Home Services), Employment Programs, Financial Programs, Financial Programs - Health Related, Geriatric Clinical Ro- tation, Health Care, Housing, In Home Services, Legal Assis- tance, Long Term Care Insur- ance, Menus, Muriel H. Marshall Fund for the Aging, Newsletter, Nursing Homes, Nutrition Pro- gram, Protective Services, Public Safety, Recreation, Services for Individuals with Disabilities, Transportation, and Wellness Promotion. Karen Hall from Lifespan also gave an overview of the services they offer including information on current phone scams target- ing the elderly population.
