Saturday, March 1, 2003

JAN. 27, 2003 - The Holy Family Auction and Dinner Party will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2003, at the Batavia Party House in Stafford.

The third annual event has earned a reputation for being a fun evening featuring over 100 auction items. In past years auction items have included many homemade things such as quilts, tablecloths and afghans. We have also auctioned collectibles, bookcases, rocking horses, tables, chairs and much more. Sports memorabilia is a popular auction item. In past auctions Holy Family School has had such items as a Jim Kelly autographed football, boxing gloves worn and signed by Mohammed Aliís daughter, and a Dominek Hasek signed Czechoslovakian Olympic Jersey he wore while winning a gold medal. Other popular items have included rounds of golf at Oak Hill Country Club, Cleveland Indian tickets, a Tim Couch signed Browns jersey, and a tailgate party to a Bills game. Fr. Mike has even auctioned the first row of seats at St. Peterís Church at the 4:30 mass on Christmas Eve!

Each HFS family participates by donating one item to be auctioned off. The competition to donate the most unique item is fierce. It makes for a fun evening of camaraderie, as well as a source of unique items . . . and bargains galore! The students also enter the competition as each class participates by donating a theme basket of supplies or goodies that is raffled at the end of the evening.

Interested persons should call for an invitation by contacting Lori Steinbrenner at (585) 768-8622, Angela Lapple at (585) 768-6434, the school office at (585) 768-7390, or email at blapple@rochester.rr.com. All families at HFS will also have access to invitations.
