He replaces Joan Tresco who recently resigned. Mr. Boyce is the retired President of Townsend Insurance Co. He has served on many boards and committees including the Le Roy Ambulance and Genesee Memorial Hospital.

A Need To Help
      Photo and caption by Weegie SEPT. 24, 2001 - Everyone wanted to do something to help. Signs appeared all over town, supporting America. Adults donated blood and kids washed cars and sold cookies. Scotty Graham, Assistant Activities Director at the Village Green felt the need to help in some way after the New York City disaster. She and Gerry Symanski, Medical Rounds and Betty Richman from the dietary department made red, white and blue ribbons which they traded for money to donate to the Red Cross.

Helps American Legion

      Photo and caption by Weegie SEPT. 24, 2001 - Mike Sullivan and Scott Zavits from Mr. Schwenebraten's Participation in Government Class of 2002, place flags on Main Street. As part of their Public Service, students in Mr. Schwenebraten's Participation in Government Class have been placing American Flags on Main Street each day and putting them away each evening. The American Legion owns the flags but lacked the manpower to put them in place.

Firefighters Collect
For Victims

      Photo and caption by Weegie SEPT. 24, 2001 - Le Roy Firefighters turned Rts. 5 and 19 into toll roads last Saturday and Sunday. They passed "the boot" to collect contributions for families of New York City Firefighters killed or injured in Tuesday's terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Working Main Street were Bill Seeley, Adam Snow, Rick Bater and Fire Chief Dave Ehrhart, Jr. who said that $26,000 was collected.

Memorial
      Photo and caption by Weegie SEPT. 24, 2001 - Hanging up a firefighter's gear after his death is a tradition among Fire Companies. Le Roy's Memorial to the men and women firefighters who were killed or injured in last Tuesday's terrorist's attack displayed an American Flag on each corner of the fire hall and a black drape over the central display. Firefighters went to New York City from all over the country to fight the fires and search for victims of the attack on the World Trade Center. No one will ever forget their valiant efforts or their sacrifices.

Farm Facts
      SEPT. 24, 2001 - Corn Silage harvest is here! While driving on the roads to and from you may notice that corn which was standing in a field in the morning has been harvested by the end of the day. This signals the coming of fall. Invisible wildlife due to the cornfields is now exposed and finding fodder among the residue of the harvest equipment. We are on track to harvest 900 ton of corn silage each day.
